I'm a little disappointed with my nautilus. It gurgles, and leaks still. Over 2 days, I think I lost about 1-2 mls. Hopefully, the problem goes away when I replace the coil.
On the mech, the main reason is simplicity. I need the kick because I want a constant voltage to the coils. I really hate that unregulated batteries start at 4.1 and slowly drop to 3.4 or so before needing a charge. I want a device that will keep steady beginning to end. In terms of understanding, I know ohms law, and have read up on battery tech's. Too many people repeating generalizations as absolutes. The idea of battery safety seems like a religious debate at times. That said, I have "safe" batteries, and the kick will give the extra protection, in unprotected batteries.
