If you are going the clone route, you should check out anything from Infinite. I have their brass Stingray and Turtleship V2 and they both work excellent and hit like a train. My hcigar Nemesis is a well made clone too!

I run a Kick2 with the Orbtronic SX30 batteries and I have ZERO problems with the Kick firing and no crunchy button either.

I've run the Kick 2 and Crown 2.0 in a HCigar Brass Nemisis Clone with the following cells:
I use the stock connection pins, and do NOT use the 7mm fuse ring.
With some batteries the button sticks out further than others...but this causes no problems with firing or using the locking ring.

Efest 18650 2250mah Hybrid, Black Jacket, Flat top. No issues, works just fine.
Panasonic High Drain NCR18650PF Hybrid 2900mAh, Green Jacket, Flat Top. No issues, works just fine.
Efest 18650 IMR 2000mah, Red Jacket, Flat Top. No issues, works just fine.

AW 18490 IMR 1100, Red Jacket, Button Top. No issues, works just fine.

And there are others who run flat tops without trouble as well.

However, start asking the people who do have problems, especially with the button, which batteries they use and you'll find that flat tops are a common trend. Of course there is the possibility that some parts of the Nemesis clones have been updated to correct the issue on later production runs as well, but someone would need to take a proper survey of the Nemesis users and chart the results to determine that, and that's more work than I'm willing to do for a problem I don't have.

Have you looked into any of the numerous Sentinel M16 clones out there ?
I'm currently using one i got at my local B & M and it's great, also is my first mech mod.
Battery I use is a SE US18650VTC4 high drain 30 amp draw (Hope I'm typed that up correct).
Using a Trident clone on it aswell running it around 0.6-1.2 ohms and all is well.
