better dual 001.JPG
This is my first parallel squonker to go on the market, and is a lovely piece in hand. A great solution for those that like low resistance and are maxing out batteries and getting short run time between battery changes. The shape and size fits perfectly in a med-large hand. The timber is Matai (black pine) that has laid in a South Island peat swamp for maybe several thousand years (guessing) taking it from a rich golden colour to a deep dark hue, and is very dense and hard. Shown with a modded chalice 3 clone.

With fresh Samsung INR1865020r's it's pushing 3.5v (72w) with 454 atty with .17 quads, and 4.0v at 0.65ohm (25w) with the chalice. Will typically consume 5-7ml of juice between battery changes at 0.2ohms.

dimensions 86mm high, 45mm wide, 45mm thick.
Apologies for the grainy pics, they really don't do it justice!

Hi vKiwi,

What other woods are you using for your parallel squonkers? I'd love one in a burr or spalted wood, or something with nice figuring.
Hi Pharein, that could be done with no trouble at all in beech burr or spalted beech that has not yet been cut into blanks. if you would like to commission a piece just pm me and we could nut something out.

I am working on a commission at the mo for a bloke in Sweden with beef bone end caps, and another custom looks likely too, making you number 3 if you would like to book a spot.

More developments are coming such as a possibility of using full hard sterling silver for the spring leaf for its strength and springiness, and maybe for cap plates as well. At slight difference in cost, but would be very attractive.

I'm trying to get good production going but also have a lot of ideas to throw into the mix that have not yet been tried.
As an example I have been using a triple parallel 18650 squonker prototype for the last 10 days or so, with a battery cassette that continues to blow me away with its performance and long run time, so that may be an option in the future too.

Still researching the silver switch upgrade regarding how much it can flex before yielding, oxidation when in contact with dissimilar metals, juice contact ect before ordering the silver. conductivity will not change as there is already a lot of copper in the switch leaf.
Another possibility is to take the base magnet out of the current path, I haven't figured this out just yet, but another option for the future.
So far the triple parallel is the biggest evolution, 6000-7500 mah and ability to push 200w in theory, with the spring loaded fat daddy 510 being the weak link as far as current handling goes. I will post on this mod later.
I will attempt to innovate a little rather than just keep making the same "old but well proven" format. So far there are 10 V2's in constant use and are proving themselves very well.

Your Mods are both coated with laquer on the inside surfaces, as all mods will be from now.

I love the sound of the silver plate.... Intrigued in the use of bone, also I'm hoping to receive three samples of wood next week after a suppliers trip to USA, was hoping something really special turns up so we can talk about you using on that custom piece [emoji6]

Well the guy who specialises in selling wood for knife handles etc I had a long chat with couple of weeks ago, he was visiting USA for some big exhibition which he buys wood so i gave him some pointers of what I was after and left the rest to him. I'm sure we was returning around now or possibly was going so hopefully I'll hear something back in the next week - hopefully he will score an amazing stabalized chunk of wood. Keep all your special ideas in mind, may be able to try a few out
