IM SORRY! I just so wanted to quote this! IT HAD TO BE DONE!
Damn, Beat me to it.

As to what's in cigarettes your list forgot, "Cinnamon and Spice and Everything Nice"

BTW - In the early 90’s, the Cigarette industry tried to put a Partridge in a Pear Tree into 100's but the tree branches kept poking holes in the paper. ;)

Haven't looked at this thread in a while. Thanks for the posts.

Other Names for DEG include:

02334 (CA DPR Chem Code Text)
02334 (CA DPR Chem Code)
111-46-6 (CAS number)
111466 (CAS number without hyphens)
2334 (CA DPR Chem Code)
2334 (CA DPR Chem Code)
338200 (US EPA PC Code Text)
338200 (US EPA PC Code)
Diethylene glycol
Diethyleneglycol
Ethanol, 2
2'-oxybis-

While the FDA reported finding 1% DEG in one of the 12 samples tested I am comfortable saying that this may have been an aberration. Here are some links with more information on DEG:

Here is the MSDS from the pesticides database

Here is an interesting article from search.com

DEG info from the Chemical Book

Australian report on DEG

US Code of Federal Regulations on Acceptable levels of Diethylene Glycol in food additives

apparently it is acceptable to have
no more than 0.2 percent total by weight of ethylene and diethylene glycols when tested by the analytical methods prescribed in paragraph (b) of this section.

Adding to OP. More info to come L8R.
