Gabe when I make my bottom feeder center posts I use a cheap RCA jack prong. They are filled with plastic. I drill it out, drill
through the tip with a 1/16 bit and then put some lead free solder in the open end. Then I use one of the posts you have used, and drill out where I soldered to barely fit the center post. Then I heat up the metal to make the bond. The end may need some shaping to accept the tubing but I find this gives me plenty of room to solder pos wire. Good luck
