Dihydrogen Monoxide

Because I saw someone in the forums talking about this (and because it was old enough of a post that I felt there was no point in commenting on it in the thread), I thought I would note something about the apparently ominous Dihydrogen Monoxide.

Let me first say that the scare about this "chemical" was, to my knowledge, originally a joke - a bad joke - a bad joke that got WAY out of hand.

Let me secondly say my entire point for this post:

Here's the break down of the chemical name:

Di (two) Hydrogen
Mono (one) Oxide (Oxygen)
So: 2 Hydrogen, 1 Oxygen...
that's right

Dihydrogen Monoxide is H2O,
It's WATER.

WATER DAMNIT.

I'm sorry for those who have been convinced by the scare that dihydrogen monoxide is actually something scary. Sincerely, nearly everything they say about it is true (it increases the chance of rust on metals, it can throw your electrolytes out of balance if you OD on it (note, pretty difficult to do), and it erodes rock (after a long period of time).
BUT IT'S WATER. IT'S JUST WATER. IT'S NOT ANY KIND OF 'SPECIAL' WATER, IT'S JUST NORMAL, EVERYDAY WATER!

There is literally nothing to be afraid of. It sounds ominous when you call water by it's chemical name - but a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet, right?

Well, I want to let you know Dihydrogen Monoxide is used in almost everything, you probably drink it everyday in reasonably large quantities, AND IT'S COMPLETELY SAFE... well, provided it's JUST Dihydrogen Monoxide (A lot of water contain trace minerals, and that's totally fine. A little calcium or sodium isn't going to hurt you (many bottled water have a small amount of salt added, because that's the electrolyte water likes to take out of your body - as it uses it to be absorbed into your system (which, obviously is a good thing) - but in the case of mixing it in your vaping, I'm pretty sure you want purified water).

Don't believe me? Look it up.
And feel free to facepalm.

(I may make a post about this in the Health forums if I see it pop up more often, but until then, hopefully this will make it to a few people who likely really need to see it)
