Why are there so many Cocobolo and Utile's left?

Yes they work the same and take the same batteries, bottles and RBAs. My guess is several things went into Rob's decision for a side button, but only he truly knows.

Many people said they preferred side buttons.
Probably an easier design to do in wood
since the fire contact is not made at the battery using flat top batteries does not increase the risk of arcing or breaking the firing pin.

JUst a quick question here, I got a LP Grand and was thinking about getting a Woodvil. Do they work absolutely the same ? same batteries, etc ? And why is the firing button on the side ? Is it easy to opperate ?
Gotta say that I previously (before receiving my first wood) thought I'd have an issue with the side button, but after holding it, it feels ideal. I imagined firing it where a top button would be and it felt weird.
Probably an easier design to do in wood
He said in another thread somewhere that top would have been 10 times easier
