Quick question regarding SS 316 in TC with IPV D2

Hi,
I don't know if the D2 is supposed to have SS mode and mine just doesn't have it, or it just doesn't come with it. But never the less, should I desire to use SS wire in TC mode (as opposed to power mode), which would be a better choice with this device... the Ni or the Ti ?

It really is personal preference but I use 24 and 26 gauge Ti with excellent results. I can taste the Ni and for me the wire is a PITA to work with while Ti is a breeze. Try SS with TL and I think you'll be pretty happy with the result, it produces exceelent flavor and there is little ramp up time.

But give it a minute and you'll get dozens of different opinions.

Ti mode at the lowest temp setting. Still might not behave like TC should but will likely be vapable.

And SS runs very well in power mode. I have it in several tanks right now and I'm not running TL.

My test was unsuccessful. SS 316 in Ti mode using Tug Boat rda. It allowed dry hit. Never gave me the "needs liquid" msg. Darn it ! I'm not opposed to using in power mode tho, so it's not a real big deal.

Steelgirl, I think you may prefer it in power mode. You'll see a small fluctuation in resistance when the wire heats up and cools down but no need for concern. Dry burn it like kanthal to get ride of hot spots and then enjoy the nice clean flavor. I've got a .42 going in a tank right now that is excellent.

SS really shines in power mode. No reason to use it just on a TC mod.
