I am having issues with both my flat and button top 18350 batteries not holding a charge very well (maybe 10-20 puffs before the battery light starts blinking). I use these on my provari mini and zmax mini between 7.5-9.0. I think it's ridiculous how quickly they drain. But when I contacted IMR they responded as follows:

These are the batteries I'm using. They are less than a month old, charged maybe 10 times. Please advise on whether this is normal and what brand/type I should be buying in the future that will last me longer.

My sister has the Provari Mini and uses the 18500 batts with the extension cap for better batt life than the little 18350, or so she says..lol

Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

I wish I would've purchased an extension cap while they were readily available!

Try a battery with higher mah. Jason from imr is right. These simply cannot hold enough charge for long given the way we vape.

Do you have extensions for the provari that allows you to use a 18560?

:)

I only have 1 extension cap, which is being used on my provari 2.5. Major regrets going on over here!

The Provari 2.5 and the P mini use button top only, you can use the extension cap on the mini & the regular cap on the 2.5 then use 18490's in both.
AW 18350 800 mah.
AW 18490 1200 mah
This is the only place I buy batteries ---> http://www.rtdvapor.com/aw/

A quality 18350 800mah cell such as an AW using an 1.8Ω resistance coil set at 4v / 9w should last about 19 minutes run time, or, approximately 225 5 second drags/puffs/inhales.
The AW 18490 using a 1.8Ω resistance set at 4v/9w should last about 28 minutes run time, or, approximately 335 5 second drags/puffs/inhales.

Lower resistance will shorten run time due to drawing more amps from the battery. Longer inhales will of course lessen the amount the cells can provide.

The zmax uses flat tops.

The 18350's in your picture are lower quality re wrap cells, they aren't dangerous in low amp drain applications like you're using them.
I seriously doubt any of them have the capacity they claim on the wrap which explains their short run time.

Think of it this way. Those are 800 mAh batteries so it takes 3 18350's to perform the same time span as a 2500mAh 18650. They won't last long at all with the low ohm builds of today, your going to have to carry several of them as replacements...PIA. I made the mistake of buying a bunch of them back when vaping 1.8-2.5 coils was the thing to do, vaping epipes and stealthy hitters. I still have well over a dozen brand new 350's that I'll prolly never use. Heck... I also have some 14500's and hitters that would be a puff or two(if that) with a .5ohm clapton. IMO unless your doing some serious stealth vaping the 350 batts are a waste

Thanks for the info. Wow, those really are powerless batteries! I ordered some extensions for my zmax mini today, so that'll leave me with just 1 device that takes the 18350

I use 18350s and 14500s everyday.

As mentioned above, AW batteries from RTD Vapor is the best I've found.

I use them on Mechs with a 1.2-1.5 ohm coil (3.3ish amps) and if I'm chain vaping (I drive a lot for work) they'll last me for about 45 minutes of driving. I've gotten about 300 charging cycles in them and haven't noticed a significant decrease yet.

If you get some AW from RTD, make sure they're the "new" ones. They'll be listed with a higher MAH and Amp rating.
