Yep. I've done vertical rebuilds of the OCC coils both with kanthal (0.5 ohm) and in the ni200 coil heads (0.15 ohm). Works like a dream. Air flow is better, wicking seems better, wattage handling is a bit higher (for the kanthal... temp handling is better with the nickel), and flavor is outstanding. Tried it with the RBA, but the results weren't as nice. Awesome, awesome build. It's how I vape on all of my Subtanks, now.

Yes I have done it since that is what I do in all my Kangers and Nautiluses. Now I would like to experiment with inserting the cotton after the coil is in so if I want to change it I won't need to change the coil as well. I make it a point to leave a blunt needle standing inside the coil at all times so the air hole is never blocked. Works a treat.
