I'm not a cloud-chaser, per se, but I do like a "thicker" cloud. There's some inherent satisfaction for me. I DIY, and I typically make "max VG" - which can be anywhere from 30p/70v - 20p/80v depending on the flavorings.

I don't go crazy low-ohms. About 0.5 is all the lower I hit. I don't feel that my current batteries are safe to go any lower. I really prefer my builds between 0.8-1.8, depending on topper.

Yes, it helps those who strive to fill a room in one exhale, but even before the "fad" I liked VG because of the less throat hit. Anything more than 50% PG hurts my throat.

I also think that there are so many new Tanks designed with larger juice channels and more efficient flow that a few years ago was impossible for thicker juices not to get dry hits.

But yes, higher Vg does dilute some flavours a touch, but most juice makers compensate for it by using more of the flavoring.

And yes, since it does produce a more billowy and dense vapor.

VG is smooth and produces thick vapor. What's not to like?

I DIY my juice. The only PG I use is what's in the nic and flavoring, leaving my mix at about 80vg\20pg.
One less ingredient to purchase for DIY. (I've got a bottle of PG that never gets used, unless I'm making 50/50 juice for a friends little ego tanks once in a while)

All over the place
It has some to do with clouds, some to do with newer gear, some to do with VG itself, and some to do with fads (and for some people, they just are PG-sensitive). I prefer a 50/50 - 70 VG mix. For me it's about the change in gear that makes higher VG preferable (I see plenty of vapor from most mixes). When I use my ol' school gear (an eGo and 510 dripping atty), I use up to 65 PG -- I would never use that in my more modern gear.

So.... probably TMI but when I was mixing my own e-juices a few years back when I first started playing around with vaping (I DIYd flavour only, no nic). I found a high proportion of VG could cause 'stomach distress' if my atty was spitting or my gear leaked a bit and I got any in my mouth... haha.
Didn't do it with 50/50s or 30VG/70PG. And I know it wasn't the flavours because they were food grade and tiny quantities.

You've been warned! LOL

I think the modern and popular styles eliminate most of those issues though.

I'd like to try something with more VG in it eventually because I love the big clouds... right now I'm just quitting smoking though so the throat hit kind of recreates that smoking sensation for me.

My throat doesn't like mid-high PG, so I mix at 30/70 or higher VG (usually max VG, one less bottle to have on the table). It also appeals to me that I can feel the density of a high VG mix, PG-heavy blends usually have _less_ feel to me. I realize that's more or less backwards everyone else, but I'm me ;)

As far as it being a fad/hype, dunno, might be. For me it's a way of vape, and I'll be using high VG for years to come, I'm sure.
