If you're getting an authentic ZNA Lite I would highly recommend getting a Z2 threaded Kabuki for the true hybrid fit/look. I have 2; a ZNA Lite with an Aluminum Oxide tube for a super light weight stealth device and a full Stainless ZNA with a Nickle Plated Brass tube. Each running Z2 threaded Kabuki's.

The 510 top cap is nice, but nothing beats the hybrid look ;)

I received it today.
I've got my GEM v1 on it right now, and it's beautiful.

While I love my Kabuki (P3), and I've got a 510 adapter for it, I've put my Kabuki away so my Nautilus coils can be reserved for my Billet Boxes.
Perhaps I'll get a Z2 Buki, but for now, it looks like the GEM reigns supreme.
My only debate at the moment is if I should get another ZNA-LITE.
By the way, it was cool to see Chris' name as owner on the ZFO business card...good to know the place is in good hands, and is still up and running!
Sure hope we hear from Zen soon.

Yes, thank you for the news. And I still need to buy your lunch one day--if I ever dig out of this hole, which only seems to get deeper as I go. :(
Man! Do I ever know what you mean! Looking forward to meeting you in person. No need for buying anything!!! ;-)

My experience with cloned mods has been, well, putrid. You basically end up buying nothing but the form, with the performance and build quality being nowhere to be seen.

Being that this entire game is based on personal value systems, I get why some people load up on them; but I also realize that they're not for me. I love the ZNA look (and the Zero, and-and...) but I decided some time ago that if I REALLY want something, I'll buy the "It", not the "zit". :D

None of what I typed here applies to tank systems, etc.. For MY personal value system, those all work flawlessly for me. But the mods? Mmmmm, yeah-no.

"Not the Zit"! I love it! Well said DP! ;-)

If you do get a Z2 Kabuki...spent a little extra and get a Z2.2 switch assembly. The nice thing about the Z2 system is it all interchangable. Z2 Kabuki, 18490 body tube and the switch, will give you a nice little setup.
So you can buy the switch and run it as a mech?

I don't like/trust full mechs, but I DO have my eye on that ZNA-813...
Turns any Z2 tube into a full blown ZNA30 device.

I'm not a big mech guy either, but it's less about the trust than the lack of control (for me).

I live by a very simply motto; No "V", no me.

I always picture myself with a mech and being one of those cartoon characters rippin on an exploding cigar...

Why not talk to HOH directly. It is HOH that provides the vapor deposition for the Kabuki's sold by provape, and all that is required to get the grey color is to bead blast the surface rather than a fine turned, or polished finish.

That, my good friend, is a great idea.

I wasn't aware that Mike was doing the Cerakote on the Kabuki tanks. I thought Provape was doing them, or having them done by their usual vendor.

If he could match the Graphite Grey vapor deposition they've done on the Radius, I'd be more than willing to pay for it.
As to my understanding, Cerakote and vapor deposition are two different processes.
I'm not sure how different they can be, but I know the finished product is different.
I've seen Cerakote applied, and even gotten to apply some myself...it was fun!

I hand painted the colors, on top of this green base. It was a trade for the guy custom coating my old Provari v2.5...
He couldn't get the details in by masking the sections off. Cerakote is applied with a spray gun, but I used a fine paint brush...he didn't know if it would work, and it was difficult, but after a few coats (Kotes? Lol) it came out great!

Here's the Provari he did for me: (I've posted this before...oh and we tricked out a matching Kayfun)

Cerakote, to ME, looks like a matte powder coating...but way more durable.
The vapor deposition finish on the Radius I just received, looks quite different, and feels quite different.

That's why I was thinking maybe Provape could do the Kabuki. But I may reach out to Zen first and see what he says...provided I work up enough courage to bother him!

Wow! That looks really, really nice!

The problem is the Cerakote finish on the Kabuki tanks is not very durable. I have two of them, both of them have slight nicks where the finish is coming off. Nor is ProVape's Stealth finish. It wears and chips fast on the bottom caps--with the exception of my Stealth Ti. That finish has proven bullet-proof.

Zen's Zenkote is, at least from my experience, indestructible.

I'd have to concur with Sir JUMA here. Having annihilated a few Cerakoted ones, it simply doesn't hold up when compared to the ZenKote or Satin Silver.

And we've all seen some of Willy's pics, as a direct reminder. ;)

I love the Cerakoted finish, and now treat those with great respect (to preserve them). But durable they are not. :(
