I just recently picked up a copper vein LP Grand. Why oh why did I wait so long to get a Reo? With the RM5 or Origen BF built to 0.4 ohms, I've finally found my perfect vape after more than 2 years and thousands of dollars needlessly spent on chasing the nirvana that was already there. No leaking, great size, solid quality, self-serviceable. If a 50 watt regulated Reo ever comes out, I will be officially done buying more hardware.

I read somewhere the copper vein will turn black over time and I should clearcoat it. Could I just get some polish and shine it up? I love the look and feel of the copper vein now and don't want to change it. Suggestions?

I would. I've had a copper vein for a few months that has darkened quite a bit in that amount of time. If you want to keep it copper colored, you'll need to. There are some good instructions on the best way to do it on this forum.

Rob has mine in for repair right now and he's probably shaking his head thinking, "Yep, she should have clear coated it"!

I taped around the fire button and made a handle of sorts with the tape to hold it. Taped off the 510, and the squonk hole and sprayed 4 light coats of Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel from Auto-Zone letting it dry between coats. I did this before I started using and have had no discoloration.

If you do not spray it it will turn very dark.

a 0.35Ω coil magically gets you to 50W, so not much different to what you use now! [but not with a 10A battery please.]

My advice - clearcoat it. It looks better, doesn't discolour and if you ever sell it - you'll get more for it. The only thing you can do with a black CV Reo is live with it - or strip it down to bare metal and do something else.

i used that on my copper vein, I am still somewhat perplexed as why I pretty much dropped 200$ on a mod and have to spray paint it? (do the copper patina folks outweigh the nonpatina, so they copper is left bare and not coated during the painting process?)

turned out nice tho.
I feel the same way. Rob should be sealing these in the paint shop, most would be happy to pay extra, especially since I know when I attempt this that I will end up with runs and finger prints, dirt and dust. Mine was pretty dark on arrival and it probably has more to do with sweaty hands than oxygen but I'm still holding out with denial. Purchased last June and no sign of darkening. Must be real copper in the paint.

My almost 2 mo. old Silver Vein has started to darken slightly already. It might have started earlier than most as I have used it while working and most environments I am in are quite dirty. Not a big deal for me though... I clear coated a black circle door with some Krylon and it only lasted a few months and started to flake off. I even put 4 coats on it over a period of 2 days... Again, not a big deal. I only clear coated it because of the rough texture of the black wrinkle finish that would get hung up when going in and out of my holster...

Ed101z - your instructions were the ones I was referring to above. I read that some time ago and having those details is very helpful for us non-painter types. I hope to give mine a coat when it gets back home and preserve the rest of the copper color. I regret not doing it when it was new but better late than never.
