We are always happy to make glass for any devices and will also do our best to provide the best quality at the best price.

There are some times when doing so is difficult or impossible. For one we cannot make threads into glass so if a devices design uses a threaded tank section it pretty much puts that out.

The difficult comes in design tolerances of some devices. Glass has a specification of tolerance that if not considered in device design will mean that much of the glass produced will not fit the device. For most sizes of glass this is +/- 0.30 to 0.40mm. While this is on the extreme from most of what is encountered if a device does not allow for at least 0.20mm under size it will likely present problems in fit of glass. Some popular devices we make a no/go gauge and check each piece. Even then we run into issues where a single persons device might be slightly out of spec or a clone version doesnt hold quite as tight a tolerance and if the glass runs small it wont fit. The use of 1mm CS (Cross Section) orings exacerbates these problems.

I always suggest to avid vapers that a set of calipers is important to have in the toolbox. These are inexpensive and even a high quality set like those we use can be less than the cost of many of the devices out there.

If there are any suggestions for us to add glass for a device I would encourage anyone who is willing to take measurements to post a thread here in our forum with those measurements. If we can even get confirmation from more than one person it will go a long ways towards our being able to provide glass for these devices.

The measurements we need are ID (Inside Diameter) OD (Outside Diameter) and Length. This is a bare minimum of information to even start in identifying the correct glass size to use in making tubes. To ensure there are no fitment issues we also need to know the minimum ID, this is determined by the OD of the metal portion of the device that needs to go into the glass. This is generally where the sealing oring lays in its groove. Lastly it is good to know the largest OD of the device above and below where the glass sits. If there are optional sizes that end up with the same ID because of wall thickness differences this will help in choosing the best size to use.

Measuring orings can be a little trickier, orings are measured by CS (Cross Section) and ID. You have to be careful not to compress the rubber when measuring CS or stretch them when measuring the ID but in general there is enough difference between one size to the next to identify them by getting close measurements. One area where it can be close is between 1.5mm, 1.6mm and Imperial #*** sizes. This can also be a benefit to the end user though especially when a device is designed to use 1.6mm orings. Since the 1.6mm is 0.063" and they are **.1 in ID they offer a middle ground between the 1.5mm (0.059") and the #*** Imperial which are 0.070" and the latter two being **.0 and **.5 on the ID. This means there are many options for a slightly thicker or thinner oring and also a small change in ID. All of these mean making an adjustment for a better fit can be done by swapping an oring. This just cant be done for the most part with 1.0mm CS orings without getting into some exotic sizes.

When we have oring measurements we provide free orings with the purchase of glass tubes.

For those designing devices. We are happy to offer information on manufacturer specification tolerance for whatever sizes are being considered and any other help we can offer.

We want to continue adding glass for different devices to the site. At present we have about 30 listed under "Other Tank Tubes" there are many more devices out there though, too many for us to purchase them all to fit glass. If folks want us to provide glass for any of these devices all we need is good measurements and information about the device. Best way to bring that together is to open a thread like the ones linked above.
