My istick is about a month or so old. Haven't really had trouble with it - saw voltage jump a time or two, but the tank wasn't screwed on firmly each time, so I didn't think it was an issue.

Just now - it's sitting on the table next to me and I hear sizzling and popping. I can see the numbers on the display going up-up-up.... freaked out, hit the button 5 times to turn it off, didn't work. Tried again - I'm not sure, but I think some sort of protective feature stepped in and turned it off for me.

To be fair, I'm not sure it is a faulty istick - maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I've been having trouble with my subtank mini not wicking, so I am always priming it. A few times I guess I overprimed and caused a leak. I saw some juice get close to the button once, but I didn't think it got inside. Maybe it did. So I may have gotten juice into the firing (mechanism? wiring? dunno...)

Is this thing easy to take apart and clean the firing button area? Is it worth the trouble? Or is this thing toast?

I am so frustrated right now because I am less than 3 months into vaping and have wasted so much money on gear that isn't working for me. For now it looks like I am back on my evods. I've been trying to upgrade to give me more vapor, more flavor, and more juice choices than the evods offer, but everything I've bought has been problematic. Now this. The evods, while limiting, have at least been trouble free. And now my budget won't allow new gear for a while, thanks to what I've spent already. aarrgghh!!

Ok I feel a tad better for that last vent, but I really would like to know if I should try to fix this thing or trash it.

I understand your frustration, I have never had to return any vape gear since starting in Nov. 2013.

But this is a known issue. I didn't want to believe it but my 50 watt shot craps this morning (won't turn on) after self firing last night.

I am hoping my vender is going to work with me and refund and/or replace my device or money.
Try to contact your vender before you "trash it" and maybe they will do something.

Hope you get your hands on a device you love that works....:)
