My stick 50W started firing by itself too.

I called the vendor (VapeNW) and they said to return it along with the original packing slip and box. They promised to send me a new one once they got it.

I've waited 3 weeks and I still don't have my new istick. I sent VapeNW a new email yesterday (along with the tracking info from the istick I returned) and asked them if they had shipped the new one.

They replied that they had no record of sending the new one, but would consider giving me a refund.

I don't want a refund. I got it on a special preorder price on the istick 502. I just want my new istick.

VapeNW said several have been returned due to this issue.

The origional batch of the 50 W eleafs I have heard were a bit dodgy. I have been after one to try and my supplier has told me that Eleaf are currently not shipping them until the bugs have been sorted. I have seen one vendor in Oz selling them though but I am not that tempted to buy from him as I have had faulty goods from him before and getting them replaced is a PITA.

The 20 W eleafs were IMHO a total waste of time as the contact pin wasn't spring loaded and no matter how gentle you were with them the pin would collapse down. The 30 waters of which I now own I have had no major drama apart from the battery (built in) not being that crash hot in longevity of charge when you wind up the power to say 15 -20 W with a mini Atlantis sub ohm tank on it. A more powerful battery would have been preferable.

I wait in anticipation for the 50W Eleaf to review but I will wait till my vendor has them and is satisfied with the quality.

Regards to all
Acer.

I wanted to add to the "Istick 50W firing by itself" thread, that this is happening to mine as well. Its not even 2 weeks old and and it woke me up in the middle of the night, firing for 10 seconds, then shutting off, firing for 10 seconds and shutting off. It burnt out my coil and the button did not work at all. I contacted Elev8vape.com and submitted a return request at 6AM Friday 03/27 and they have not responded at all. I have called there customer service line multiple times and they never answer. Not sure I will ever do business with them again......

Still waiting for return instructions.

Hmmm, it seems their policy is to have you return the item to the manufacturer yourself for a warranty issue. Give them time tho, it's been only a couple of business days??

Personally, I give my topper a twist in the off position, or at least 5 click it, before I put it somewhere out of sight for awhile. Peace of mind.

This. I definitely agree. Keep the iStick off and in its original packaging to return to the vendor.

Auto firing is pretty sketchy, this is the first I've heard of problems with the 50W iStick.

I have had every eleaf that has been released. Yes, I have had problems with the 20W Eleaf with the fire button sticking and the connector pin colapsing but never a problem with the 50W eleaf which I run aT 25W with an Aspire Atlantis Sub Ohm tank and a 0.5 ohm coil. I also now am trialing a Meganus Sub Ohm tank which I got from an Aussie vendor called Vapeking and I find it great.

My biggest worry is the number of rubish clones comming out of China and the Eleaf in the 20 and 30 W variety is being cloned so beware. I have not heard of a 50 W clone yet and I suspect you have a clone. Contact your vendor and in the meantime I would not have it in the house. All proper Eleafs have a 10 second cut out and cannot overheat or explode. Having stated this I have never pushed any of my Eleaf's or any of my other mods close to the cutout time. The longest inhale I have had would have been aprox 6 seconds and beleive me at 25W that is a good enough cloud and Throat hit and Lung hit for me :)

My advice get shet of that faulty Eleaf fast.

So just today, my istick 50w has been having a huge problem. its firing by itself and it wont stop. i had my dark horse RDA on it today and felt it burning in my pocket. I originally thought the button was being pressed in my pocket so i took it out and kept trying to turn it off and hit the button but it just kept on firing. I had to find something to unscrew the RDA so it would stop burning because the button did absolutely nothing. I then just put my dark horse back on, vaped away, then mustve forgotten to turn it off and put it in my backpack and it happened again and i freaked out, because i knew the button wasnt being pressed. Then once at home i re-wicked, set it on the counter and it fired by itself once again and couldnt be stopped until i unscrewed the RDA. I know it isnt the RDA because i threw it on my girlfriends Istick and there were no problems.

    HELP PLEASE
There are some that have blown up by autofire. Mine did the same thing. It's known as BLS (Bikenstein light Show) in the istick 50w owners thread :). Good news is the 90 day warranty from iSmoka. Return it to your vendor for replacement.

I just bought my istick 50 a couple days ago and it has autofired twice. First time I was leaving a restaurant, hopped in the car, started it up and I hear this shhhhhhhhhhh noise. I had the mod sitting in the cup holder, turned off, picked it up and it stopped. I thought maybe i was hearing things. So just now, it woke me up at 6am. It was off and sitting on my desk next to my bed. I grabbed it and the the noise stopped but the display was on. I was half groggy from just waking up. I took a pull on it but no vapor so i was like, what the heck just happened? So i hit the button and nothing. I clicked it 5 times, it came on and vaped fine. That brings me to now, doing some research on it. I have also noticed that it sometimes stops firing for a second while hitting it and I thought maybe i wasn't pushing the button all the way down the whole time. Now I know there are issues. I'm going to bring it back to the shop today and see what they say. I'd like to think that a replacement would fix the issue because otherwise I love everything about it. The guy at the shop checked it out before I left. He said they have had some that people brought home and they were DOA units.

I've had my 50w almost 2 months. It auto-fired once - scared the crap outta me. It turned itself off after 10 seconds.

I had been having trouble with a subtank mini, and it had leaked the night before. I was sure the autofire was because a drop of juice got into the button area. I cleaned it using a toothpick and an alcohol soaked paper towel to get as far into the gap between the button and case as possible.

That was a few weeks ago. It hasn't happened since. I know the early versions were buggy and that's what I have. I love this thing though, so I will probably buy another as soon as I know all the bugs are worked out and I can be sure the vendor doesn't have old stock.

I have both the iStick 20W and the 50W for several months now. I did have problems with the 20W 510 connection pin dropping too low. I took it back to the store and they replaced the top section and I have had no more problems with it.

The only problems I have had with the 50W was the firing button getting stuck a couple of times and I sometimes have problems with the passthru feature not working. I have had tons of problems with the subtank mini leaking all over it (repeatedly) so it could be from that. As soon as I can decide on what I want I will be updating with a new box mod.

Yeah this is a widespread problem. Mine lasted 36 days before it started. I'm waiting on return instructions. In the meantime I won't use it so I bought a Smok XPRO M80 Plus. I love it and wish I never even heard of Eleaf at this point
Excellent Choice My origional Eleaf was a 20W and apart from the contact pin not being spring loaded and I fitted a accessory hinge to it my partner still uses it 7 months down the track. I now have an Eleaf 50 the second edition and not a worry works fine and I have it married to a Meganus by Vapestone. I also have a Smok XPRO M80 Plus and the jury is still out on which is the better mod.

I have had issues with two of the three I stick Eleafs. The 20W version the contact pin is not spring loaded and over a period of time sinks down into the well that it is mounted in. My YL has used hers I must admit since last November but is a very infrequent vaper and we threw hers out this morning as it was extremely difficult to repack the contact pin which looked like it was housed wrapped with plumbers tape. I myself am a chain vaper and my 20W..er lasted me a month and a half before the pin sunk down. I tried pushing it up and even super glueing it into place but no, once it starts to slide down no stopping it.

Let us progress to the 30W eleaf istick, I have seen two with the firing button being jammed and on both occasions it was caused by the protective plastic coating applied around the button areas being out of alignment. Once this was peeled off both the units functioned perfectly. One other unit I have seen was that the 30W er kept switching totally off and would not turn on. Yet when the wattage/voltage adjustment would be pushed the unit would turn on in the display but would not fire. I dislike both the 20 & 30 W e leafs' for these reasons.

Having said all of the above I now have a 50 eleaf and eleaf have listend and I cannot fault the 50 W eleaf. I have had it since its inception and it has functioned marvelously. I alternate between it and the Smok Xpro8O plus both of which I do recommend. Like our American Cousin distributor, my vendor in Oz replaced the faulty eleafs without hesitation and even paid the freight for their return from me to him. Excellent service. We are fortunate in one respect that there is a guy in Oz that loves fiddling with these things and some he has successfully repaired. Alas I have lost his contact details but he does occasionally pop up on our Aussie Gumtree sites when I see him next in the electronics section I will put up a link to his services.
