I too am pleased to find this thread still going, and other people enjoying this nifty pipe. I'm still enjoying mine and toying with getting another (or even just the bowl) in a different color - problem would be, WHAT color??!! I like several of the colors. (-:

Thanks for the tips on getting the battery compartment open - I honestly thought I was going to have to send mine back that first evening!! I tried a rubber jar grip, including some other things, ended up spraying it with WD-40 and letting it set awhile. Ugh! But after that I did manage to get it to unscrew, and now I never screw it in all the way and haven't had any more trouble.

Glad for that info about where to fine the coil heads for the original tank. Might get some although I haven't been using that tank lately and don't really need it. Bookmarked the site anyway. Right now, I have a silver SMOK tank on mne.

Interesting about which way the battery goes in - must have made it one way in some batches and the other way in others! Mine goes in positive side up.

Mines positive up also. I want another one. Love all the colors. I will probably go with the Purple. I received a Splash Carto Tank today to try on it. I haven't tried a carto tank yet so I'm looking forward it.

I kinda want the purple one also, just because it's my favourite colour. Probably won't be investing in a second pipe until this one busts though, whenever that happens to be.

Has anyone actually taken their firing button apart to get to the spring? I am curious as to how it works & how easily replaceable it is.

From a quick look at the firing button I don't even see how you'd be able to take it apart. I'm not mechanically literate though. :p

Got some black cherry berry in my Nautilus, vapes awesome on this pipe.

Bought one of these a while ago and it came in the mail a couple days ago. Got a black kit on ebay for $45, best investment of my life. :p

Really loving it, and while I think the stock tank/batteries are fine I was thinking about picking up a Nautilus to pop on it.

Any ebay seller you recomend? I heard there are a lot of fakes of this pipe

I just got mine in a day ago and I love it. I just wanted to throw out an observation I made that may help with the battery + up or down thing. If you look at the 2 batteries that came with my K1000, they are marked 180 degrees different from each other. Meaning the nice flat end on one is marked + and the other battery has the flat end marked -. So Im going under the assumption that the flat side is - and goes down. So far this seems to work. I also marked the batteries with a sharpie for future reference. Other than that the only problem Ive had is the drip tip wont stay in the tank, it's very loose. Other drip tips wont stay in either.

I have had mine for a while now, got it from local shop. Got the black. My battery goes positive up. I have used nautilus, pro tank, kayfun atomizers on it with no problems whatsoever, currently I have an aspire ce-5s on it, it works well, and makes the stem appear longer lol the drip tip that came with the pipe fits in this tank without any modifications. ( nice bonus). I will be buying a second pipe from that same local vendor later this week, as they are now coming in wood! My local shop has them for 59.99 I think that his is a fair price?

Both batteries that came with mine are marked identically, bgibs1.

They have wood versions now, solar flare glass??? Hmmmm!!!! Must check those out! :2cool:
Yes, there are two different wood versions, one is light color wood, the other is darker, kinda like mahogany color, I have only seen them in a picture, but my local shop saya that they will be here in about one week, cannot wait! Lol
By the way, both of my batteries are marked identically also, hope that helps. I will post pics of the new wooden model whenever I receive it.

Yes, if I can get a photo uploaded, I will soon. My local dealer is dbcigs the wood version is $64.99 though, but I think it is worth the extra $5 for the wood. The wood version is lighter than the metal also.they have dark color, and a lighter color wood, I went for the dark one.

My take on the "which way goeth the battery" situation:

First, the manual-ette is just... bad. So bad it's hard to take it seriously.

If you look into the bowl the body is plainly connected to the threads and a wire from the spring leads to the center post. There is no practical way this pipe could have ever been wired in any other manner.

Also, if you take a good look at the spring you will see that the center of coil of the spring is wound in a flat spiral. The only reason to do that would be to make contact with the small positive post on a button top battery.

Combining those two factors, if you put a good battery in there according to the instructions "positive up" - like an AW 18350 that only comes in a button top - the switch throw is extremely short, to the point of accidentally misfiring.

AND: if you look at the switch itself and how it makes physical contact with a battery: The outer edge of the switch "braces" against the battery, resting on the battery shrink wrap. There appears to be no insulator between the switch body and the spring mounted center pin. If there is any damage to that wrap when a battery is inserted "positive up" that's any easy scenario to create a dead short at the switch, since both the battery positive center post and the negative outer casing could be exposed to the really flat surfaces of the switch. If the battery goes in positive toward the spring instead that possibility is eliminated.

To me, just looking at the switch construction, the wiring, and the spring construction leads me to believe Kamry screwed up the instructions. It makes more sense that the battery goes in positive down, facing the spring - not the switch. It also makes no sense that this far into the game Kamry would intentionally put something into the marketplace with reverse polarity that flys in the face of industry standards, creating problems such as with the nhaler Silencer in the process.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen instruction manuals get lost in translation.

Have you tried both ways? Positive side up and then positive side down? Im using it positive side up, im afraid i will kill it if i try it upside down :S

My wife bought me a K1000 for Father's Day. After using it all day, I must say I love this thing! I've been an eroll user for the past few months and will continue to be but, man, this thing is awesome. I do have a few questions, tho. What are the tank recommendations? the stock tank isn't bad but options are nice. I've seen PT2, Nautilus and a few others mentioned. Also, any juice recommendations for that true pipe feel/taste? This i'm curious about since I've never been a pipe smoker but my dad is.
