Hi, I just bought my authentic kayfun Mini V3. Been watching all those tutorials but seems I cant make it right. Kinda frustrated. My build is 28awg, 2.0mm, 8 wraps and I get around 1.12ohm. Im firing around 14-16 watts. The thing is, I dont taste the flavour like the tank is hype about, what I taste is the mute flavour. Ive followed the tips like to keep 1.2mm coil above the base, long mouth to lung draw, is my cotton is not enough? or the quality of my kanthal?

did you check for hot legs, hot spots and stroked it? I don't do that rba, I do the kanger mini's in more of the subohmn and found wicking really needed to be there, more chunky. I suggest you visit the coil forums. otherwise my only suggestion would be raising the power a bit.
yep ive checked it, no hotspot. ive tried raising the power, but what i get is hot and warm vape but still mute flavour, tho i do feel better taste. but dont you think 14-16 watts is enough with 1.12ohm. yep, i should visit the the coil forum and look for it
well I've vaped a 1.2 at 24... but I wasn't keen on the draw, I'm more of a .3-.7 girl like I said.
Do you know how to fill properly?
Turn juice flow off,,fully clockwise. Fill, turn upside down as you tighten the top. Turn righside up & open juiceflow 2 full turns.
Look for Bubbles.
Also, a little less wick than on my other kfuns.
Used coils from .9 to 1.1 ohms with steller results.
I'm jealous, can only.afford a clone..

yes, i do fill it properly like you said. i bought a used kayfun mini v3, couldnt afford the new one as it is around 90usd here in malaysia, i bought it for 40usd. wondering what did i do wrong as i get muted flavour

Try a 2.5 mm coil. I use the same 28 GA and the flavor is great. Are you using spaced or contact coil?
Im using contact coil. Should I use more cotton? Later I will try using 2.5mm coil and see how it goes
Concur on the 2.5 id coil.
I use 26awg SS,, both legs north. The coil nestles inbetween & about 2 millimeters above the capture screws.
A bit fussy, you will have to experiment..

I realise you have an authentic but there is alot of good info and builds in that thread. If you can take some pictures of your build that will help.

I use 2.5 mm ID myself, but 2 mm should be workable as well.
Sure.. there's shoddy Kanthal. But it shouldn't mute the flavor
in that way.
I doubt reading a ton in the kayfun build thread will help much.
This is a really simple, tried and true build.
I would just suggest to just do it again. And to experiment with the amount
of wicking.. a little less... a little more.
It's definitely not the atty's fault. That thing is a flavor machine.

I find some coils, especially claptons... need a bit of break in to get the full flavour, depending on how much I'm vaping, anywhere from a few hours to a day.
I have a kayfun V2 and do a 2.5mm 29 to 30 gauge spaced coil at 1.5 to 1.7 ohms and run at lower power 7.5 to 10w and get decent flavor there. That's my style. MTL, low power, cooler vape and flavor
I use 28awg Kanthal, 8 wraps with 2.5 ID for ~1.5 ohms.
I wick it with Rayon. Vape it at 15-20 Watts.

After a month of experimenting, now I can get a happy vaping experience. It is because of the cotton. I use cheap cotton before and now with a brand new type of cotton, I can get a full flavour of my kayfun lol. Im a happy guy right now
Just a local brand from Malaysia. I think any cotton other than Japanese Muji Cotton is good and gives you better taste on the flavour. One thing I found out is in order to maximize the taste of the flavour is the distance between the coil and the airhole should be more than 2mm.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out, but don't stop trying to improve it. Try 24 guage SS with 4 tight wraps, 3 mm ID coil, wicked with Rayon, and lifted up off the airflow hole. It should provide you with about 0.25 ohms.
