ego-t are prone to failure, either the smallish circuitry fries or the battery dies overnight. Even the thread or the tank could get messed up by a single bad screwing it in.

Did you use another charger than the one it came with? These don't have a charging circuit so even a power spike in your outlet could fry it.

This is why they are considered obsolete and most people upgrade to something better.

The 'tank' you're using are prone to failure also, always have back ups.
If you've found vaping to be helpful/enjoyable probably a good time to upgrade.
The QC with the type of set up you're using was never good, seems as time has past & vape products have improved the QC of the older styles is considerably worse.

You can try a new 'tank', the coil/heating element inside may be shorted or open, replacing the 'tank' might work.
Those are very inexpensive delivery devices (tanks), may be worth a couple $ to give a new one a try.
If your battery has malfunctioned & no longer works correctly it won't do any good.

Long term you will be consistently disappointed if relying on an out of date vaping setup.

If you want something similar to what you have, virgin vapor is having a clearance sale on some of their stuff. I would suggest you spend a bit more to get a decent device that has more flexibility though.

This kit was the first one I ordered and I paid $44 for it 3 years ago. One of the batteries still works.

If you plan to be vaping for a while, you'll end up going through a lot of these Ego-T devices.

In the days that it was all that was available it was almost one per month that would fail, if very lucky, we'd get maybe 2 months out of one.

But not just that, but also that while it can be just enough to keep someone from smoking, it's not a very "satisfying" vape compared to something just a tad larger, but light years better in terms of technology.

The Eleaf AIO and similar "All-in-one" are all great "starters" but if you're looking at long term, you should check mods that have replaceable batteries, and simple tanks with easy to get coils, for which, the Eleaf Pico kit (with the Melo3 tank) is a favourite/popular for many.

I've started to build a blog to assist newbies, so feel free to have a read (click on my name and you'll see the link to the blog), as the Melo 3 is mentioned in reference to coils..
