It sounds like you are feeling the same way that I feel about trying to establish a website for the first time.

Your website is more than adequate for what you're doing. There are myriad community members who would give their last drop of VG for a chance to help if needed.

All the links worked for me although I have yet to install the program. Please allow me to add my appreciation to the many others for your continuing efforts in developing this software.

I could EASILY this this being useful in the reddit DIY community (among others), like a simple "Share" button that generates some really basic formatting with a recipe name, list of ingredients, and percentages.
If you right click inside the program (anywhere other than a button or text box), you will see about 6 different formatting options to copy your recipe. I use the one for reddit all the time :)

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know...but the old goat is back again...
I am seeing my inventory showing the remainder of flavor based on the recipe that is open.
So I have 248 ML of Nic if I have one recipe open but with another one it's showing 240ML...is this the way it should be working???
I thought that one of the inventory listing would show the inventory as a compilation based on all the individual recipe usage....but the recipe page shows only what it is at the time the recipe was created....as well as the "Edit" and "View" inventory...
I know I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks again for all the help!!

Hey Hotrod,
It's me again, I've two suggestions if you don't mind,
I installed WIN 7 on my Mac under virtual environment for your Calc.
I've some recipes that contains 13 flavors[emoji85], the notes portion of the main window is taking almost 50% of the display so half of the recipe is hidden, so during mixing and scrolling down, if the curser is not on the correct place it will change the % of an ingredient,
Is it possible to resize the notes/warning part,
and/or to view the recipe after its creation without the ability to edit/change it and add an edit tab to do so.

I guess it would depend on the size of your monitor but I wanted to make sure that you knew that you can resize the window.
The notes and warnings area would be difficult to make smaller. The primary reason for their size is the "Results" display that sits between the notes and warnings. In order to display all of the results I need it the height that it is.

The inventory display on the main window shows the amount of inventory that is available before making the recipe. The inventory display should be the same for every recipe that uses the ingredient(s) being displayed. Are both recipes showing the same nicotine ingredient? Are you looking at one recipe and then using the "Recipes" dropdown list to switch to the second recipe or are you doing a "File->Open" and switching between two different files?

Having the calculator and a recipe bank online would be great! Now I save a recipe, print to PDF, uploaded the PDF to Google Drive and download on to the iPad that I carry into the kitchen. Having just started, mixing by weight is a blessing.

Thanks!
Now that I have established a website there may be some future opportunities however that may be slow moving as I go through a learning curve on interacting with the site.

HotRod..you've been so patient and I do appreciate you being so...hahahaha..but I am just totally not getting this for some reason...not your fault as others are not having these problems I am having so I'll have to figure it out.

When I launch the program...the recipe that was open will be showing...so if I want to check my inventory...I will go to "Edit>Ingredient Editor" and I will see the inventory based on what it was after creating that recipe...so the inventory is linked to the recipe that is open...so I never get a true inventory balance.

The way it's working now..if I wanted to make up a new recipe using 4 flavors, PG,VG and NIC...the only way I can see how much of each ingredient I have to work with is to open up the last recipe that used each of the ingredients I want to use and jot those levels down outside the program....I'm sure that this is not the way the program was designed to work so I know I have it all screwed up.

I am going to uninstall the program and download it again and start over...I have somehow managed to get it so screwed up that I can't make heads from tails about what's going on..

Thanks again for your patients...

I have given up on few things in my 66 years...but this one has got me on the verge.
Is anyone but me having this much trouble?? I doubt it but I have to ask!

I love program but I guess its just going to work the way I thought it should.....hahahaha...I guess there are at least 10 wrong ways to do this and one right way...I've found 9 wrong ways so far...but the right one just eludes me!!

So...maybe I'm expecting something from this program that it will not do.
I wanted to be able to load all my ingredients into the program...then be able to open the inventory and see what I have to work with..items and quantities.
Then build recipes from that inventory and then go in anytime and see what's remaining in the inventory.

I have read the help files on Managing Ingredient Overview at least 5 times and can't see anything that leads me to do anything different than I have done.
Same for the adding new recipe....
I can just use it as is and keep track on spread sheet but that's not something I enjoy doing but as I continue to add to the numbers of flavors and such to the inventory..it will be a must!

I found something new to me. Making a couple new recipes I went to print to PDF and saw I could "Send to Kindle". So, I did that. Saves a step of uploading a PDF to Google and then downloading. Amazon has a program that installs on your computer and you can upload directly to Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle

Anyway, not really about the calculator just a tip for anyone like me who doesn't have a printer or computer near the mixing.

The inventory values are set in the ingredient window. You select the ingredient and in lower portion of the window is a field labeled "Inventory amount (ml)".

When you create one or more recipes with an ingredient it will show you the current value of the "Inventory amount". Every recipe that uses the ingredient will show you the same amount. After creating the recipes if you go back into the ingredient window and update the inventory amount, all recipes will reflect the new value.

Other than you manually changing the inventory amount in the ingredient window, the only other time that the amount will change is when you click the inventory button on the recipe window. The inventory button will allow you to reduce the inventory for all ingredients in the recipe by the amount called for by each ingredient in the recipe or the inventory button will allow you to increase the inventory (add the amount back) for each ingredient in the recipe.

All ingredients, recipes and inventory amounts are stored in a single "juice" file. That is the reason I asked if you were doing a "File->Open" for each recipe. If you have different "Juice" files the inventory amounts in each juice file will be different. Inventory amounts are not shared across files, the amount only apply to the file that you have opened.

I forgot to address one of your items, seeing the inventory amounts for all of your ingredients. The easiest way to see all of your ingredients and their inventory amount is to click on the "Edit->Ingredient editor". This displays a spreadsheet style listing of all of your ingredients and there is a column that shows the inventory value for each of the ingredients. The value displayed is the same value that shows when you have the ingredient window opened.

Hahaha..HotRod..you are such a kind, caring and patient young man and I do thank you so very much for you work on the program and your help with me...

It took me re-reading all your prior post and going back to the single file folder to realize what you were referring to and why I was having such a problem with the inventory totals.
I was doing a "save as" then giving each recipe its name...so when I opened the program it would be showing the last recipe I had open when I closed the program..so when I would go to the "Manage Ingredients" button to open the "spreadsheet" inventory listing...it would show the what was used for that recipe...and that was true for each recipe I opened...hahaha...very confusing.

But I went back and started entering recipes, used the "Inventory add/decrease" button and just did the "Save Juice File" button on each new recipe....NOW...when I open the program...it makes no difference which recipe I have open...I can see the correct inventory by using the "Ingredients Managment" button...showing the current values of all the ingredients.
This is perfect....don't know why I had such a hard time but I did...
I am settled in now..and hopefully will not be clogging up the thread with more of my nonsense!!!

Will be loven' it with tons of new recipes!!

Thanks again HotRod and all the fine contributors here on ECF!!!

I am glad to hear that you have the problem resolved. It sounds like you may now have several juice files, each with individual recipes. There are a couple of ways that you can combine the juice files without reentering the recipes.

Click the "Tools->Import EJC recipe file".

Browse to one of the other files that you created (not the one that you have opened which is displayed in the title bar of the window) and select the recipe file.

You will see all of the recipes contained in the file that you just browsed to. Place checkmarks next to the recipes that you want to import from that file.
Click the "Import" button.

The result is the recipe you selected will be imported into the juice file that you have opened saving you from manually entering the recipe.

Well...many folks don't like the idea or retirement...but I for one LOVE IT....I'm not one who has to be working on a job...I find way to many things I enjoy doing to busy..but when I don't want to do anything at all...nothing...zilch...then I do just that. I walk every day, read, follow my football team, team sites, visit with a neighbor or two and swap war stories and maybe best of all...get to indulge myself in this wonderful hobby of Vapeworld!!
The wife and are or free to relocate when we feel the desire...up and take off for weekenders..in the middle of the week when its not so crowded...but mostly..just enjoy working for my wife as my only boss!!
You'll get there soon...and love it I'm sure...give you plenty of time to work on this vape endeavor...web sites and all!!

Later HotRod!!
