Hello Ladies of ECF!

Just a reminder that October is almost here and it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
For more information, the American Cancer Society website is www.cancer.org.

As a breast cancer survivor, I stress the importance of getting annual mammograms!

I was 35 when I was diagnosed, and I had never had a mammogram. I didn't think I needed one at my age. There is no history of breast cancer in my family. If I hadn't actually seen the lump protruding from the surface of my skin, I would never have known it was there. The mammogram I finally had did show the lump was suspicious, and an ultrasound confirmed it. Thankfully, my cancer was Stage II, so it was caught early. After a mastectomy, reconstruction, and chemo, it's been 11 years since my diagnosis, and I haven't had any recurrence, thank God!!

Take care!
