i love my IPV3 and was thinking about getting a ipv4 for them temp control
but im sooooo glad i waited now
gonna have to get me a black one of these now
Mine arrived today really like it, it's built pretty damn solid like my sigelei's all metal. temp control works the same way as the ipv4 50 joules and does it amazingly well. it does 165 watts in regular power mode out of the box and with a update will do 200 WATTS!
they seem to have a good touch sensor on this one no issues so far, there is no charging port or board on the mod. no holes for it either.
Battery sled looks pretty good, the battery cover is easy as hell to remove when you need to. uses a ball bearing locking system and you have to slide it down to open it up. 510 is spring loaded so don't go trying to adjust it. the ohms resistance hasn't jumped around at all. Pretty solid mod and quickly becoming one of my fav high wattage tc/tl mods.

And fixing the buggy ... firmware it shipped with would be nice.

I'm not holding my breath though.
They were supposed to have already released a update for it to be able to run at 120 watts in power mode, I also heard something about a update for both of them to utilize 70 joules in temp limiting though I'm not sure if the latter is true or not.

anyone see this?
  • New IPV3 Li firmware will be uploaded to P4U’s website on 6/20/15
    • After the firmware upgrade, Power mode will support 200w max.
    • After the firmware upgrade, Joule mode will support 75J max.
    • After the firmware upgrade, The mod can use not only nickel wire but also kanthal wire to control temperature.
Kanthal with TC?

It's surely a typo, they just released the FW update (on 18th actually) that added 200W and Titanium support. Not Kanthal. Kanthal simply cannot be controlled with this mod, or really any resistance-based TC mod. Innokin are going to do it with special tanks with in-tank sensor.

i figured it was something odd with that, oh well.... still an updated IPV3 to go with my original IPV3

Out of curiosity -- Are there any clear advantages of this over the IPV4 if one does not have the need to go above 100W, and if one plans to use nickel over titanium (though it's my understanding that one can still use Ti with the IPV4 well, just requires some tweaking of the temps/joules to achieve)?

Just wondering, as I have one IPV4 coming soon. If I like it enough I will most likely buy another for the gf, but if this is clearly superior in some way then perhaps I'll get this for myself and give her the IPV4. :p

its built with all metal like a sigelei. I have 2 ipv4's and now this and they are all great.

Personally if it were me I would give your girlfriend the IPV4 and I would order a IPV3Li. I have both and am finding that I am only using the IPV3Li. I like the way it is built better. The IPV4 is a great device but it feels cheap compared to the IPV3Li and seems to hit a little harder especially in TC mode. What am describing is the hit is already hot by the time you draw on it compared to the IPV4. Does not make much sense, but it is a different chipset.

They haven't released that update yet have they? For the iPV4 I mean.

No an update has not been released of the IPV4 and neither the IPV4 or the IPV3Li supports more the 50 Joules. Based on my analysis it would appear that in TC mode depending on the build 50-80 watts is being used, but I could be wrong. I am basing this analysis on the voltage that is displayed while vaping and plugging these values into the formula for watts based on ohms and voltage.

I have a Snow Wolf and I bought it on impulse, the Ohms jump all over the place, is that the norm for these things, I first tried builds with Ni200, had a few that were O.K but, they were jumping all around so I threw a tank with NI200 coils on it to see if it was my builds and it still jumps. considering getting the Li, but I don't what the same problem. any input?
