Okay, so I have been using the vAir-T type A coils for a couple of days now. I can't say that I am very impressed so far and they seem to be very temperamental. I thought you weren't supposed to get dry hits from nickel coils, well that just happened today...leading me to chuck my first of 5 in the trash.
I followed the directions from
AtmizrOpin 's post, using them in the Atlantis v2 tank along with the eVic VT mod vaping 80vg/20pg. I couldn't get good clouds at 40w so I bumped it up. The coil ran fine for a few tanks at 500 degrees and 50w, but then the flavor dropped off considerably on like the 13ml of juice mark. So I bumped it up and finally got good performance at 600 degrees and 55w. I left it sit for a few hours while I went to run errands. My space in the house is in the basement so room temperature there is around 60-65 degrees (don't know if that matters)
I came back from my errands and fired it up and got a dry hit...BAM! and was like WTF!
Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong, if anything? The adjustable juice flow has me a bit weary of these coils and I don't like fiddling endlessly to get a good vape. More info about what specs folks run these coils at would also be helpful to know what their limits really are. The box says up to 80w, but I don't think I would want to try that. I would like to avoid going through these coils like toilet paper. Thanks!
