    Snoopy: Make sure the atty/ carto/ tank/ whatever you're using is never over-tightened. Sometimes the rubber grommet/ ring down the attie may break if you do so, leading to chaos (short), so check for this. These atties/ cartos with a "broken seal" down the threads are likely to cause shorts...

    Mind you, I think Genisis by Persis (the one I own) is the best experience ever, flavor-wise; consistency-wise, and others; performance-wise in general. But that is, as ukeman points out, ONLY when -and if- you have developed your skills enough and have become a master in the art of coil-making...

    Well, they are two very different things... IMO, a rebuildable atty may be perfect, performance-wise, but is just not that practical 24/7; as in there is an entire ritual to it, which I do enjoy, but it just won't work for me as "your every day 24/7 atty". Properly configured, a Genisis is God...

    Same thing happened to me once. I have learnt not to over-tighten atties as I would as a result of the experience. Even though mine are, say, adding some character to the mod, what about the "blackened spots" !? Are they fixable... !?
