    Gripper Discussion

I'm curious: What batteries? What Mod? Watts? and at what voltage do you change batteries? I ask because 3200 mAh in 9 hours is a LOT!!!...about 3.5 times more than I use. I would would usually get about 20-22 waking hours (full day and half the next) out of a Panny CGR18650CH. That's at 10...

    Gripper Discussion

I'm going to see what the price does after a few months and I'll probably pick one up. I loved my Gripper before I dropped it a few to many times. I still use it from time to time when building new coils as it's the only thing I have that measures resistance without fiddling with multimeter leads.

    Ohm x voltage = What?

Technically, wattage does directly relate to heat output....1 watt for a period of one second = 1 joule. But then there are the other factor like how much heat is transferred to the juice, how much is transferred to the air, how much us transferred to the wick, volume and density of the fresh...

As a practical measurement, the Vivi Nova is exactly flush with the top cone. 19mm +/- a smidge.

It's hard to explain, but there is something wonderful about an 1.0-1.2 ohm RBA. It does take a slight adjustment to how you vape. With a fully charged battery, a short draw is all you need for GREAT vapor. If you take a longer draw like you would with a higher ohm atty, it will tend to burn...

    RMS vs mean

Layman's terms: RMS voltage means that you get an output that matches the desired setting and can use the voltage setting to get accurate wattage calculations. Mean (average) voltage will not give you an accurate wattage calculation, and as you have found out, hits harder than RMS mode due to...

    Protected batteries work in some?

It all depends on the APV. More specifically the design of the circuit. The topology will play a huge part in how friendly the circuit will be towards a low current battery. The peak current could be double or triple of the average current depending on the design. You'll never know unless...

I'd be glad to if someone would donate their VAMO :D

Why .5 increments? I like to fine tune.

I would figure that the number of increments have a role in it. 0.1w increments would make for 120 increments from 3w to 15w where 0.5w is only 24. In VV mode, you have 30 increments from 3.0v to 6.0v.

    Vivi nova coil

I've tried both methods in the early stages of rebuilding the VN. I found it really didn't make a difference for me and was more trouble that it was worth. Once you get it right...it's right, and I've never burned a grommet. But I also use 30g kanthal @ 1.4-1.6 ohms on an mech mod with fairly...

    Vivi nova coil

If the legs are glowing that fast then you have a short. Check your coil spacing and make sure that nothing it touching the wall of the head. I have modded my VN heads, so it may take some fiddling to work right, but you might try wrapping your coil on a drill bit and then pulling the wick...

Why .5 increments? I like to fine tune.

    .5w is still a pretty fine adjustment. With a 2 ohm coil, a .1v adjustment is about 0.4w. About .3w with a 3ohm coil.

    IMR, Protected or both?

Repeated over discharge doesn't link directly to catastrophic failure, but it can in a round-about way. IMR's are good down to 2.5v, below that you are doing permanent damage to the cell. The damage shows it self in the form of increased internal resistance. Increased internal resistance...

I got mine today. I did have to remove one very small bur on one of the threads. Other than that the threads are all smooth. I did notice that you cannot squeeze the center tube (double male ends) very tightly or else if deforms and makes the threading very tight. Light pressure and it went...

Charging batteries and measuring voltage help with 18350's and 18650's

If you are stacking the 18350's it is a good idea to check the voltage of each battery separately from time to time. The VAMO will stop working @ 6.4v in 2x18350 mode, but both batteries usually don't drain at the same rate. As they age you might find one battery drains much faster than the...

    IMR, Protected or both?

I wasn't speaking of your normal everyday battery safety. Every battery and every device needs a certain degree of safety whether it be by safer chemistry or by electrical monitoring and disabling. I was speaking specifically about the uber (having the specified property to an extreme or...

    IMR, Protected or both?

Protection circuits are not needed for the IMRs or the Panny hybrids unless you are the kinda person that puts on a helmet, knee pads, and a reflective vest before going out to check the mail. They are just catering to the uber-safety hysteria that surrounds lithium bats. The hysteria is mildly...
