    It could be that the plating done on the screw threads varies greatly in quality from batch to batch. My guess is that, the metal under the gilding is brass. Of course, "brass" is just a catch-all term for a number of copper alloys.

    Hmmm... I don't have enough chemistry under my belt. Can someone else take this? The mix I'm using is like 83% VG, 15% PG and 2% alcohol and I have zero corrosion troubles.

    This thread has me concerned, though I haven't noticed any such effect from using a small amount of alcohol in my mix. It seems to me that the heat from the atomizer would break down at least SOME of the alcohol. Wouldn't it? Neither would all of it be absorbed, of course.

    Greetings, I've always assumed that "green gunk" was copper sulfate - corrosion. Nasty stuff. It's a good idea, methinks, to periodically clean the atomizer and battery threads. As to your first question, I have no idea. Anyone else?
