Okay, I just started using e cigs about a week ago and have been smoke-free for about four days. I chose not to go with a kit, but just bought the items separately for my wife and I. I love the flavors and I enjoy vaping almost as much as smoking itself.

Now the bad: We ordered 4 manual batteries and one pass-through. Out of the 4 manual batteries, I suspect that two of them are not working. It lights up when it is charging but when I take them off, dead as a doorknob.

Can anyone refer me to the best company where I can purchase batteries that.....oh.....I don't know.....have a better than 50% chance of possible operational use??

Great replacement habit, but means absolutely jack without dependablitly.
On a side note, GREAT forum guys, I'm glad I found you.

It's probably the center post not making contact. Depending on what model of ecig you have, there is a movable center post on the battery or on the atomizer. (editing after new info, more to come)

Ok, with a 510 the center post on the atomizer is movable. You probably pushed it in too far by over-tightening it, or maybe it came that way from the factory. Now it's not making contact when screwing it in to your battery.

You just need something to *gently* wedge up that center post. I was about to type out a description, but just remembered this other thread with pictures:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...have-atty-works-1-device-but-not-another.html

Check that out and see if that fixes it. If not, does the battery even light up when you push the button? Do you happen to have a multimeter?

P.S. Have you tried the batteries that don't work on the atomizers that do work on other batteries?

Well, when I remove the battery from the charger, I press the button and it doesn' even light up as for the "good" batteries it lights up.

Cheapie variant?? Very possible. Does anyone point me towards a more reputable company for the purchase of 510's?

I have been using the Joye 510 product line accessories (batts, attys) from happyvaper.com since November. Everything I get from happy vaper works just great.

You may end up paying more but at least you are going to get parts that work.

Thanks. I paid 12.99 for each battery compared to 21.99 from happy vaper, so I guess you get what you pay for. I suspect I have just bought a knock off. My vendor says that 1 out of 100 batteries fail in the field, so either I am extremely unlucky or he's telling me what I want to hear. In their defense, they have agreed to send me out two replacement batteries after I ship them back the dead ones.

I'll do some more investigation, but happy vaper might just be my new vendor.

Unless....anyone else knows where to get the same quality for cheaper?

Thanks for the response, larktdl.
