I have experienced this also. I had my mini set up with silica because i couldn't get a good coil going. The 500 mesh (or maybe a good DID day)fixed that. On Saturday I made new wicks and coils on all seven DIDs with no trouble at all. I have some ceramic wick in the mail.....wanted to try...- overall

I had a similar issue. I had purchased multiple DIDs and shuffled the top caps. None were aligned. properly. Several in this forum suggested trying different caps. Voila I got the right cap on the right DID. If you purchased more than 1 DID it may be worth checking this. As for the O ring...- overall

Tony I usually lie top buttons....you will find the bottom side button on the ggts to be really easy. You can press with your finger or my preferred method ...have the button turned to my palm...a quick hand squeeze and it fires perfectly. Update on the 500 mesh. Uma there was no leakage overnight and I had them all laying on their sides....but I also did the thick wick with almost no center hole. I cut off about 6 feet (or so). I fold it in 2. The end with the loop I hook over my dining room chair (has wood that sticks up). OK today I tore down 4 of my DIDs and the mini and the orion. I torched and rolled the 500 mesh thick tight coil with minimal center hole. For Uma I did the 30 awg coil. With a 3/4 wrap clocked in at 1.3 to 1.5 ohms. For my other coils I used the twisted 33awg. That one came in at 1.1 ohms. The...- overall

I actually find less is more when it comes to wick preparation. I torch the flat piece of mesh for a couple of seconds only on both sides. Then roll and do a juice burn x 2 or 3. My wicks are dull grey. This has given me much less issues with the mesh causing shorts. Mine rests on the bottom...- overall

I like ultra .low Res recently ..not for the VV mods but for my mechanical mods. The best wrap I have found to be the UL Res is twisted 33 awg . A 3/4 wrap will give me around a 1 ohm coil. Worts great at 3.7 volts on mechanical and provari. With the thicker wire the could lasts for a long time...- overall

I am looking for ceramic to try as well. I have silica, cotton, and bamboo, 200, 270, 325, 400, and now 500 mesh. My experience thus far has been less shorts with the finer grades. I think the wires are thicker in the 200 and 270 mesh, it is very difficult for me to oxidize properly. The 400...- overall

My stainless steel parts came in today.......I didn't have the heart to break down one of my DIDs. The mesh and coils are perfect as is. I did switch out the filler screw. I have tried the silica wick and it works great. You could also wrap the as wick with silica the have the best of both worlds. As far as torching goes.... i just torch the flat piece for a couple of seconds. Roll the wich and do juice burned off with lighter. This makes a soft week but is much...- overall

A 4/3 wrap with 32awg on a fat wick gave me 2.2 ohm pretty consistently. I have saved my tanks for 'that juice that was sooo delicious.....but now tastes like crap in the DID'. Nothing different. I use a standard ss wick.......depending on my mood may be 270 or 400. I just ordered some 500 mesh to give it a try.
