You are correct, at 4.2v (freshly charged battery) with a 1.5Ω atomizer the amp draw is 2.8amp. There are many many batteries that support this, all of the AW Limns (including the tiny 16340) as well as most high capacity batteries (most all 18650s) can handle this amp draw without a problem. -

Why does a shorter battery life even matter? I can only use rcr123a batteries to get 8-10w (6v) with a HV atty, these only have 500-750 mah. But with a LR atty, I can use 18650 batteries that have upwards of 2200 mah, so even if its 50% less (which it isnt), it will still last much longer than... -

I get about 1 hour with a 10440 battery and a LR atomizer on my slim. And I am a heavy vaporer (about 9ml a day). I get a half a day with with a 18650 1600 mah and just about a full day with a 2200-3000 mah 18650 battery in my GGTS with the same atomizer. Since I have been buying/using LR... -
What is the difference
I love the dual brass end caps, but when I use a battery that does not require the upper aluminum section, I prefer the aluminum top cap. Guess that's why I have 1 of each. -
Lithium Ion + magnets
I am using pretty strong springs to hold the battery in place and have not really had a problem with the battery coming out when I remove the lid. But to answer your question, space. I want to keep it small as possible.- kaji

For a single 3.7v rcr123a configuration I use these: AW IMR16340 550 mAh IMR CR123 size LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery. More than enough max drain rate so that you do not over stress the battery. But I have been preferring these AW IMR18500 1100mAh LiMN rechargeable lithium battery. Also... -

New owner of GGTS has a question
For me, the best way to avoid this is to screw the atomizer on the top cap first. I then push the center pin up with my fingers (from the bottom) until it stops. Then I assemble the GG and stop as soon as it is snug. -

No problem, I hope it works out. In the mean time, one way to test if your PCB is being tripped is to try and use them, once they stop working, take them out and throw them on the charger, then immediately remove them (this should reset the PCB without having to wait), then put them back in...
