    i think it's entirely possible to make a mechanical switch in the space provided by the switch housing on the protege... think solid bar from positive to middle of adapter, with a wedge cut out of it, a spring under the wedge that is under the existing top hat part of the button... tiny parts...

    i saw a really nifty "fix" or something of that sort for this with a staple... bent into a "T" shape and put into the hole in the center of the atty. might work for you... works on my 901 atty that i overtightened... (well i had 2 adapters on my 801 adapter on my protege... and them stacking...

    mine did this same thing the first day i got it. check the switch houseing... check the solder points of the switch, i resoldered mine back together... fired right up. i only have the 801 protege adapter though.

    i have done this type of thing too... i personally hate the aftermath of the alcohol in there afterwards even after letting attys sit overnight the alcohol taste doesnt go away... after dunking in everclear for a while i would dunk and rinse with distilled water... seemed to help... i haven't...

    very good point... it's near that same taste actually... i swear i counted to 20 on the original fill though... then i thought maybe there wasnt enough... and added more... that was a couple days ago tho... i need to just rig that thing back together and give it a go while i try to finish my day...

    I hope this wasn't asked somewhere else... I just bought 10 cartomizers from cigeasy and i just wondered if they are all the same... these ones tastes harsh as hell to me... like a REALLY sharp taste to juices that don't taste anything like that in a 510, 910, 801... i'm using the cartomizer...
