Has anyone ever had a 10440 explosion?

So no one has experienced a 10440 explosion? I'm wondering if protected 10440s might be a bit unnecessary.

Li-ion or li-po? I think the stock iPhone 3G battery is 1150mAh. Whichever model of phone or battery you have, it's probably in that general range.

That depends. Are you asking about unloaded or loaded voltage? Unloaded...yeah, pretty much the same, just better life. Loaded...I don't know, haven't seen anyone test that. Probably better if you're comparing to a 510's loaded voltages. Just a guess, though.

If you have the negative battery plate at the "top" (the same side you have the atomizer connected to) and the metal of the plate is touching the outside metal ring of the atomizer connector, that shouldn't be a problem as long as it's not also connected to the center pin of the atomizer...

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by switching polarity on the battery holders. Changing the orientation of the battery will switch polarity for the whole device. The battery connectors are basically just part of the wire, which can work in either direction. Or were you saying to swap the...

Has anyone ever had a 10440 explosion?

I'm just curious, because on another forum, I came across someone claiming that 10440s will usually fail in small ways instead of exploding. I'm just wondering if anyone here has had an experience with a catastrophic 10440 failure.

That's right. Atomizers are not polarity specific, and reversing the polarity is fine is something like this, because of the plastic body. The only thing to consider is if you have the body of the device carrying current and the outside ring of the atomizer carrying an opposite charge, you have...

I agree completely. Multiple viewpoints are useful.

As a minor update, the rubberized finish on the Joye Stick does actually give some extra protection against scratching. I've dropped it a few times now, often on pavement. With the silver body, this created scratches that went through the paint, and you could see the light from the LED shining...

Well, there is circuity involved, because without it, there'd be no circuit. But if it's simple circuitry, as I said (e.g., battery, switch, atomizer), then you shouldn't have any problem reversing the polarity by inserting the battery backwards. So what exactly are the "wrong impressions" that...

Just picked up a DSE905, Stick, and eGo for under $100 total (short review and comparison)

At no point in my post did I say that any Joye product did not pass QA. What I did say was that the DSE905 had such an obvious problem, that I had to assume quality control was absent in order to miss it. The problem of the upside down LED ring is obvious with even a casual inspection. I...

I have re-read what you wrote, and what I wrote, several times. I do not see anything in my posting that was non-factual, nor do I see anything from you highlighting such. If you cannot substantiate your claim that what I posted was not factual, I will not give your assertion any weight, and...

Well, I did say, in my original post: If you like your wording better, that's fine. I just said the same basic thing in different words. I'll try to find that post, because I don't see how a PCB by itself would drop voltage without a voltage regulator...unless you're talking about loaded...

I'm not saying that the stick battery lasts longer, I'm saying that the USB recharging function means I never end up running a battery all the way down, which is not the case with a 650mAh battery like on the eGo (a 900mAh battery just barely almost gets me to the end of the work day, for...

Just picked up a DSE905, Stick, and eGo for under $100 total (short review and comparison)

I was purchasing some atomizers at Heaven Gifts, and I noticed a few deals on mods. I picked up a DSE905 (body only) for $30, a Joye Stick (body only) for $30, and an eGo (battery, cone, and charger) for $30. Since I already have a bunch of batteries and chargers, this worked out to be a pretty...

    Vaping and Gas?

I've noticed a whole lot of stomach rumbling and gas when I use Atomic Cinnicide, but not any other flavor. Weird.

    Are you a pearlist?

Some employers can discriminate based on religion. Things like religious organizations and non-profits can hire based on religious beliefs. Also, I think (not sure) that a Christian bookstore could, for example, hire only Christians. I seem to remember that very small businesses were also exempt...

    Are you a pearlist?

A majority of the world's population don't believe in unicorns or sasquatch, and people who believe in them don't make military, economic, and political decisions based on what they think the unicorns or sasquatch want us to do. So basically, we have a term for atheism simply because the issue...

    Are you a pearlist?

Well, that's not always the case. If it's purely a social relationship, then what you say is valid, but that changes if the person has any power over you. If the person is your boss, it can affect your employment and promotion opportunities. Similar situations exist for police, judges, elected...
