I get better performance wrapping the coils close together side by side. For some reason I noticed the larger the spaces between wraps the more likely to burn the cotton, especially with weaved cottons. I still have yet to experiment more with oval coils though.
I think most new to rebuilding make their coils too big. I know I did when I first started my first coil was over 5ohms lol. I also noticed how coil size can change the way it performs greatly. I think I'm going to start collecting/making more different sized rods for different size coils. So...
I misplaced all of my sewing needles I have been saveing just for mounting different sized coils. So I cut a piece of coat hanger and made some larger coils with 33 and 36 aeg kanthal and the size seems perfect. Will post some pics when I get a chance.
This is a recipe I myself have recently concocted that is just amazing for a tobacco lover.
A.D.V. Holy Moly Tobacco
3% 555 DK tobacco (TFA)
2% M-type tobacco (TFA)
1% Light Brand tobacco (seedmans)
2% Caramel (LA)
25% 60mg/ml nic
5% water
62% VG
Best results after steeping a few weeks (4-6)...
Well that setup was horrible, but I did learn something. The air flow in the drunker is what made it worse haveing the coil and wick higher up. After realizing that it's the air flow has given me some ideas on how to improve the next setup. Will show my next idea when put together.
Just got done cleaning every piece then back together. Used 1.25inches 33 awg kanthal with nickle legs for about 1.8ohm larger coil. Had to mount the coil on top a little higher because of the thin slots. Rolled two wicks of cotton rounds both through the coil like original setup. Letting it...
I have had a singe problem lately again, mostly because I think I have been making the coil and wick too thin. I came accross a thread talking about oval coils working better in some devices and remembered the origonal wick/coil in the drunker was large and oval. Will keep posted on how it turns...
Home made atties is the topic. I bought a few male atty connectors recently and pulled apart some used Ce2's a friend sent me and have been thinking about making my own atty. Anyone else that has made anything I would love to see it. I was thinking of using some large flat washers for the base...
I mixed up a 30ml batch of 555 DK at 4% and tried it fresh and that is a great tobacco flavor. I can imagine how much better it will get with steeping.
Mixed up a 10ml batch of light brand tobacco at 5%. Made a small batch because it's clear and the smell reminds me of tobacco concentrate which...
Yeah I'm used to diy, have been for since I started vaping forever ago. These are just new flavors to me, so I figured I would see what some of you have to say about them.
I mixed 2 30ml bottles 1 drop per ml already. So from what I see that should steep for at least 4-6 weeks. I will try a 2%...
I guess I was asking more about percentages for those tobacco flavors as well. I knew the M-type shouldn't be mixed more than 1 drop per ml but the 555 DK?
Also the light tobacco smells alot like tobacco concentrate, which is floral.
The M-type needs 4-6 weeks I hear to change flavor after...
New Tobacco Flavors I have been wanting to try for a while I just recieved from Wizard Labs.
M-type Tobacco
555 DK Tobacco
Light Tobacco
Now anyone with experience with these flavors have any info on making good recipes or percentages?
I already mixed a couple 30ml bottle of M-type tobacco...
Really is worth 5 bucks getting the voltmeter built in isn't it. Those blue pcb's really do make them look nice as well. Did you drill a micro hole for the potentiometer in the window? Looks great!
I took apart our old printer to find a bunch of different sized caps up to 50v and several smd switches. I'm thinking I will try making my next welder with different caps selectable for different awg wires.
It all depends on how dark your juice is. My really dark brown juices go through a wick in about 2 days, but my clear juices can go for at least a week.
Got my juice supplies today. I mixed up 5 30ml bottes of Ry4 Doube, and 2 M-type bottles so I'm good to go. I re-coiled and wicked my 2 vivi novas with 36 awg kanthal with nr nickel legs and cotton rounds. As clean as a vape can get, really love my current setup.
Been running real low on juice so haven't had much experimenting. I do have a wizard labs order coming so I'll have enough uice for another few months. Ordered a few vials of double ry4 so I can make a bunch and et it steep. Also ordered some new tobacco flavors I have not tried M-type favor...
