    PDIB's Making MODs!

That's a pretty brilliant design ... you'd just have to make sure the positive was fully insulated from the walls, and the negative always touched the walls. Doh. I didn't see where the gasket went before... that's GREAT:). Wait... just realized this is adapted from the Kayfun gasket design, so...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Sorry... I try to catch up on pages of notes, and I see that you guys keep moving ahead... I can't see how that atomizer works exactly... juice hole is where? Negative post goes into one of the deck holes and out the side?? And pdib... what do you mean 'single wire'? That's at least a...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

You got it! I'll mail em to pdib, but it won't go out til Monday, since I can't get to the PO tomorrow morning. And already told you, you don't owe me anything... you paid for the wood... :p (and I wouldn't have done it if you hadn't made me in the first place)

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Oh heck no... with a 4" x 36" stationary Rockwell belt sander, it still took forever to grind each block to the wood and the only thing I was doing was removing a few mm off each face. Honestly, after doing that, I learned a lot of appreciation for what pdib (and you too) go through with those...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

With K&G, you send them the wood cut to the sizes you want already, and it takes between 1 and 2 months to get it back. They said it was 2-3 weeks per color, then it has to dry between each color, then 2-3 weeks for stabilizing, and they are shipped back sticky wet. They weigh it AFTER they...

Here's my album of wood blocks... like a dum dum, I uploaded the pix many megapixels each, so they may take a while to load... http://s1339.photobucket.com/user/hystark/slideshow/Stabilized%20Wood Val... tell me which 2 you want, all the dimensions are on the first pix (front and back pix)...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

I think the reason pdib wanted to do this is because of the few accidental breaks of that weak 'chin' part, when people threw their more delicate wood dibis on the ground during tantrums. I don't think he wanted to change it due to design, but functionality...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

I was thinking the oval cut with the long part side to side (horizontal), with the center part large enough to fit your finger into like the original. Is that hard to do? It would match the top of the dibi as it is now.

    PDIB's Making MODs!

I think he means for symmetry purposes, to make the deeper part on top go in the middle... like a 1/2 circle or even diamond, instead of a rounded trapezoid shape. This just because the entire Dibi is so symmetrical, so the hole looks odd shaped asymmetrically. I'm good either way, but...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

It's been pouring all day today, so no sun whatsoever here. Val, I told you you'd get 2 great blocks for the cost of the wood and shipping, you can have ANY 2 blocks (so it was a very wise investment for you:p). The WHOLE REASON I did this was because I did not want you to waste your money...

    PDIB's Making MODs!

Months ago, I showed Val an ebay listing of a wood block - maple burl. I sent him the link since he was obsessing about wood, and forgot about it. He BUYS it and tells me we're splitting it, and we can get it dyed and stabilized. He has it shipped to my house. Well, when it got here... it...

You are going to love that wood ... it's super light, with a very touchable texture. I've got wood mods with cocobolo, purpleheart, bloodwood, birdseye maple, bocote, bubinga & lacewood, rhodesian ebony and stabilized and dyed maple, and Cappy's African Mahogany can hold it's own with any of...
