We got into the 40's yesterday and today as well.
Figuring the snow was going to start melting, I checked my sump pump on a whim. Turns out it died sometime between now and the last time I checked it in January. Sooo much easier to replace when there's not water gushing in and your bailing...
A lot of it has to do with how active you are I think. Some of the guys I worked with at the foundry that retired a decade ago are still traveling and blowing their pensions at the casinos. Where as others went home and drank beer and watched TV and passed within weeks of retiring.
You're more...
I had to raise mine 6" within a few months of moving to this house. Mines a plastic unit on a 4x4 set into a buried 5 gallon bucket of concrete. It was late Spring and easy enough to remove the bolts, drill new holes, and remount it.
It just looks dumb with exposed wood on the bottom now...
Thankfully my order was only screwed up by me. I accidentally bought Ettan original rather than white portions. Oh well.
I like general white but the only thing I could trade are other things in the same bergamot flavor profile.

The "my dang kids..." stories I hear at work run the gamut from "my son won't quit whining about NEEDING this new gaming console" to "my daughter pawned half my jewelery to buy ....." No kids of my own to share any stories yet.
Winston is 15 weeks tomorrow, getting to be a big boy. Pretty soon...
Happy new years to all, hopefully it's at least 80% less crappy.
I got the stimulus on Wednesday. Already paid my mortgage and that was all the stimulating I'm doing with it.

That's terrible Roth. I saw yesterday a coworker and her infant were killed in a drive by shooting on Christmas day. She was a super sweet lady so I can't imagine she was the intended target. Such a tragedy.
The college I went to had a pass/fail option for electives or non degree specific...
We bought a big air fryer earlier this year and use it all the time. Works great reheating leftovers that the microwave ruins like fish and pizza. We've also fried chicken and even made steak.
That's an interesting program Roth. We've been getting hello fresh for a few months now and it's been...
Hopefully your dig out goes smoothly Roth.
I certainly wasn't expecting it yesterday when I put my truck sideways just before I got to work. There was a wet snowy mix coming down and the overpass I go under is perpetually wet looking. I saw someone speeding up to me in the rear view and...
Thankfully the masks don't phase me anymore after toiling/sweating through a summer in the shop.
GM convinced the government to get us into the vaccine queue with the essential workers (grocery stores, pharmacy etc) so our plant is getting the vaccine in March tentatively. Where our...
Trying to force personal responsibility is always going to be a losing game.
A friend of mines Mom is vehemently anti mask. She was asymptomatic and gave it to her 8 month old grandson who's currently in the hospital battling 104 degree fever and in one of those oxygen tube things. Despite her...
Couldn't have said it better myself. We get our contractual sick leave pay if we go out with covid, which is 60% after 11 days. Being out 2 weeks would yield 3 days at 60% and 11 days of nothing, so I'd rather not lose that money especially before Christmas.

Covid getting closer to my wife and I as well.
My cousin had a mild case about a month ago. My wife's sisters mother in law tested positive a few days ago. A coworker/friend's girlfriend tested positive earlier this week, along with his team leader. Another friend/coworker is on that same team...
Oof, now I don't feel as bad about needing a $15 cable for my $25 printer.
Pups probably doubled in size the last few weeks. We have him going to a doggie day care now for socialization and some basic training is included. There's an adult yellow lab there that he has decided is his best buddy...
He's not too keen on being picked up/handled or pet yet, so we're messing with him quite a bit to get him used to it.

He's currently 8 weeks old and full of puppy energy. We named him Winston, but that name was already taken for AKC registration. Knowing show dogs have crazy names and our last name roughly translating to "of the Cold Wind" in German, his official name is "Winston of...
Memory is a strange thing. Similarly, I remember some "bad" things crystal clear and others I've totally forgotten until someone who remembers brings it up.
I don't think I mentioned it here, but my wife and I's dog of almost 15 years had a stroke about a month ago and wasn't able to move...
