Still snusing it up with that wonderful G-4 stuff. It gets me through the workday and it's awesome. Waiting for Christmas sales (fridge/freezer space at a premium until we move and buy another freezer.) So I wait, calmly.

    Anna

Buysnus had 20% off over thanksgiving. I’m sure more sales will happen with Xmas coming.

Waho, great looking dog and you're floor looks amazing! Plus a great picture of your girl Hitt.

Burnie, you sound like me. I lost one that was an Army root canal that they never mentioned the need for capping and I found out too late, after it had fractured. Now, in the last year I lost two upper left molars, one lower right and two upper right fractures- one at gum level and one partially fractured. The funny thing is, so far, there's been no pain. Not looking forward to having them pulled and I'm getting by on the chewing thing other than nuts. lol

Well with the Covid thing and my age, plus the battles I had with my laptop keyboard, I figured this might be my last chance to buy a really good laptop since I spend so much time on it. I got a Dell XPS 17" with the works. I could have bought a decent used car for what I spent on it but I waited the better part of the year for black Friday pricing.

It's absolutely amazing, fantastic color (part of the reasons your dog pictures looked so great), sound quality superb. It's more of a graphic person's laptop but I figured why not. I justified it by saying Chase actually bought it for me with rewards $$$. I did the same thing with my Amazon rewards to buy a 20" bar for my one chainsaw plus 4 chains, 2 crosscut chains and 2 ripping chains for those 42" rounds that I have to ultimately turn into firewood. I was amazed how much credit I already got from them.

Covid getting closer to my wife and I as well.

My cousin had a mild case about a month ago. My wife's sisters mother in law tested positive a few days ago. A coworker/friend's girlfriend tested positive earlier this week, along with his team leader. Another friend/coworker is on that same team.

We have the catch 22 where manpower is getting thin, so medical is getting more stingy with the covid tests and sending people back to the line. So when suspect folks test positive they have to send 2+ additional people out for testing/quarantine, further straining manpower. One day this week 4 day shift people tested positive on the line next to mine and then ended up sending another 17 people out on top of that. Took them 3 hours to find manpower to get it moving again.

It’s unfortunate. I think that people are just tired of being couped up and are going out more. We were going to go out to eat last night but left after we saw people waiting in line. Also yesterday a friend of my wife’s rented a movie theater at AMC and invited us along with ten other people we haven’t been around. We didn’t go. It just wasn’t worth taking a chance to see a movie I’ve already seen. We have had three people out of 11 at my work get it. One was in the hospital for weeks and will still be off recovering for another month. I’m not afraid to go out but don’t see any reason to take extra chances. I’m sure if I was off with it that my boss would pay my salary but I would lose a lot on commission.

Couldn't have said it better myself. We get our contractual sick leave pay if we go out with covid, which is 60% after 11 days. Being out 2 weeks would yield 3 days at 60% and 11 days of nothing, so I'd rather not lose that money especially before Christmas.

That’s crazy! I figured you would have better benefits than that being union. My boss is generally a good guy and know I’d at least get my salary if I got it and was off. I’m not sure what he’d do about commission. I’d survive but it wouldn’t be fun.

The way I look at it, In my age group, I have a 1.7% chance of dying this year of any cause and a .17% chance of that death being from Covid based on the 2020 stats up to Dec 2nd. That means I have a 98.3% chance of surviving a 99.83% chance of not dying from covid. If I get it and die from it I'll have beat the odds. LOL I do what I can to stay safe- hand washing, mask as much as possible, etc. However, what will be will be and all these people having their lives destroyed by arbitrary shutdowns is just not right.

Trying to force personal responsibility is always going to be a losing game.

A friend of mines Mom is vehemently anti mask. She was asymptomatic and gave it to her 8 month old grandson who's currently in the hospital battling 104 degree fever and in one of those oxygen tube things. Despite her being positive and in close contact with him, the fever that landed him in the hospital is unrelated and he got covid from a nurse/doctor. She feels fine, both her positive tests were wrong.

I'm a big proponent of taking the warning labels off everything and letting God sort them out. Stuff like helmet and seat belt laws. If you want to risk death in a minor crash or making toast in the bath tub, knock yourself out, I'll pray for your surviving family members. It's when folks who don't care to protect themselves end up hurting other families where the problems start. You can't legislate for people to care about others unfortunately.

Thankfully the masks don't phase me anymore after toiling/sweating through a summer in the shop.

GM convinced the government to get us into the vaccine queue with the essential workers (grocery stores, pharmacy etc) so our plant is getting the vaccine in March tentatively. Where our compensation process for actually getting covid sucks, the vaccine policy is tentatively pretty generous. Fully paid time off for potential side effects, fully paid quarantine time, fully paid leave if you test positive after vaccination. I can see why the pre-vaccine process was crappy, encouraging employees to get the vaccine by actually paying us.

The goal is 80% of employees vaccinated, informal polls on our Facebook group shows something like 70% will refuse it.

My daughter came home on winter break yesterday and wanted to go out to eat with us. The first place we went to was almost an hour wait so we left. We went to On the Border. We only waited a few minutes and they were doing a good job keeping people spaced. I honestly wasn't too crazy abot going but didn't want to tell her no. Anyway, our waiter was fantastic but the manager came out after the waiter must have gone to get her knowing it had been too long since we ordered our food and had not gotten it yet. She said they were getting hit hard with online carry out orders and apologized. After she left I started getting mad but it was only a few minutes and the waiter brought our food. After we were done, he asked if there was anything he could do and I told him to tell the manager that we expected some kind of discount on our meal for waiting. I thought she might comp the whole meal but only took $10 off our ticket. Oh well, better than nothing. Like I said the waiter was fantastic the whole time and a left him a $15 tip on a $34 ticket.

Roth, you had asked me to let you know when I did reviews. I forgot but had already posted one on the Aegis Boost Pro but just posted another one on the Vaporesso Gen X. I'm now doing reviews for sourcemore and health cabin as well as vaporesso and geekvape. I've also done some for Freemax but was told that now they can't send samples to the US because of PMTA.

I'm not getting the Vaccine but I already had COVID, thank you. I think that was punishment enough,

Also, I hate the masks but I hate them because if you social distance you do not need them, nor do you need to dehumanize people and allow more masked crimes to occur.

Remember when people used to wear masks TO ROB BANKS???

I have no clue what is happening here but frankly, I am about done with it.

Well it started slow today and I was hoping the meteorologists were wrong but it doesn't look like it now. We're up to at least 6" with another 3 hours on the map, then a "winter mix" which normally means a heavy sludge draining down through the fairly light snow to make it a bear to clean up, then back to snow for six hours. Not looking forward to the morning.

Does sound pretty miserable. We had a couple colder days but starting tomorrow we’re back in the 40’s and then 50’s on Friday. I wish every winter was like this has been so far. It wouldn’t break my heart if I didn’t even have to get out the snowblower this year. I’m going to start it Friday again to ward off any evil snow spirits.
