Fancy(ish) builds and (slightly) higher resistance

I really like building. I build a lot. I like making fancy builds, "fancy" of course being subjective. Claptons, fused claptons, aliens, dragonskin, even twisted can be nice when I just want something simple. There are certainly far more complicated builds than those, but I tend to zero in on...

    New Reuleaux RX200S

I'm not sure if this is basically the 200s owner's thread or what but it does seem like that's what it's becoming. I don't mean to hijack but could anyone here help me with this? In short, where is the amp cutoff for the RX200S with a very low resistance atomizer? (well, any resistance.... but...

    RX200S amp reading/cutoff

I thought I posted a thread about this here but now I don't remember and can't find it anywhere. So.... I noticed the newer RX200S has an amp reading on the display. In theory that's nice, but does anyone know the cutoff? The Cuboid cuts off at 25A which is really annoying and unnecessarily...

FDA What is the deal with this "The United States Vapers' Survey"?

I answered everything. Forget about self-incrimination. If the powers that be somehow gain access to this and want to hunt me down for continuing to figure out a way to vape no matter what happens, let them. As of now, it will not be illegal to use or possess or technically even purchase as far...

    Vaping and Photoelectric alarms

Well then your answer is that I should talk to him, whether or not that's really your answer. I realize he has to comply with fire codes, but that doesn't mean the smoke detectors have to be this specific brand. He also has to provide a livable environment, which this is bordering on not, and...

    Vaping and Photoelectric alarms

TLDR at bottom We rent. We have new hardwired photoelectric alarms-- including one directly in our bedroom-- that are tripped by the vapor, even very small amounts. They go off constantly. We have -blown out the windows, always blow out the windows, that's all we do in here now to keep it from...

    Eleaf iStick 30W Not working

This is a shame. It doesn't mean "the isticks are junk," though. My iStick 30W is over a year old and still doing fine, especially for the low price. Providing it is affordable, I would not generally recommend using an internal battery mod as your one-and-only workable device, though, for this...

How Many Mods Do You Own?

Guess it depends on what we're counting but I have a Provari, REO Grand, Coolfire IV, isticks 30W, 60W TC, 75W Pico, Cuboid, RX200, El Diablo dual parallel mech, Tesla Two, SMOK M80plus, and I think that might be it. so... 10?

    Reuleaux RX200 "Check Battery"

I am not going to venture a guess as to what might have happened with those batteries, but it certainly doesn't sound promising. If you have three other 18650s of the same type, you could throw them in the RX to at least see if it's reading them. I wouldn't use them if it's not a married trio...

Vapers living with non vapers and deeming regs

I am very fortunate that my partner is completely supportive. Every so often he will make me stop to think about what I really want to spend, but frankly I consider that a positive. I would do the same thing with the size of some of my orders, especially now. Although my partner is also an...

Starting to realize more watts doesn't equal more flavor

I'm pretty sure you could put a single coil in the Griffin the same way you can on the Velocity or any other dual-post, dual-airflow RBA. There is no single-coil airflow option on the Griffin either so it might be a bit airy or not as flavorful as in an RBA that has a dedicated single-coil...

Starting to realize more watts doesn't equal more flavor

Yes, I will post a photo a little later. I haven't had the Griffin that long so I'm not pretending I'm an expert at it... RDAs are more my thing and it does have a bit of a unique wicking method. However, mine is certainly working well enough and I've been rebuilding on other toppers/decks long...

    Tuesday May 10th community events

The original thread is still available as far as I can see, unless this is a secondary thread of 125 pages. I guess it could be? I seem to recall a different title but maybe they were merged. Ed: Looks the same to me. Anyway, subscribed.

Starting to realize more watts doesn't equal more flavor

If you're getting dry hits on a .31 at anything over 55W or so, it's a wicking problem. I have a .3 in my Griffin right now and it works fine up to 75-80W or higher, but it's not necessary to vape it that high. I agree with whoever told you to just tuck the cotton in lightly, not stuff it in all...

    Mixing juices

I'm not translating anyone else's post, but most people don't seem to get the same buzz from vaping as they might have gotten from cigarettes, especially the first one after many hours without. Vaping is still satiating, just not necessarily buzzy. I've read before that part of the cigarette...

    Velocity RDA cloud build?

@bwh79 gave you some good advice, but I'll add the following: As a new builder, you really should be focusing on becoming extremely comfortable with the basics before looking to build potentially complicated, cloud chasing builds. It is imperative, IMO, that you are adept at building simple...

    Are we helping or hurting?

I have been vaping for more than six years and still can't say I'm totally done with smoking. I probably have about half a pack total a year when I drink, which is obviously rarely. The next time I'm going out, I'm going to make sure I have some Black Note on hand (which I can't really afford...

Higher resistance atomizer in a sub ohm tank?

It is actually safer. The lower the resistance, the greater the stress on your battery. Many batteries these days can handle low subohm builds with no problem, of course, but that doesn't change the fact that a higher resistance build/coil will tax your internals less.

    Eleaf iStick "pico"

I was honestly worried about that too, being so used to top fill I mean. However, since in practice I mostly use the Subtank for lower wattage and higher res builds, it's not that big of a deal. Especially since the Mini is... 4mL with the RDA? a little more? I can't remember, but it's around...
