One way to identify the SXK-version is to try the glass section on another chimney. It is a little bit thicker than the authentic/other clones, so it will only fit the SXK. Also, if you look closely at the juice holes on the chimney, they are a little bit different on the SXK vs the authentic... -

If you paid $130 (is it?) then you probably could file a complaint to them and maybe get a replacement. It does not seem like your problem is widespread, so perhaps you got a dud? -

Rough Skin
Pro tip: Use latex gloves. You don't even have to wear them, just wrap one around whatever you're trying to unscrew and off you go. You'll be amazed.
