    Penelope's missing parts

You're very welcome. Other ECF folks helped me out a ton. Just trying to do my bit to give back is all. In case you haven't seen it, this video is all you'll ever need in terms of building these tanks. Review of the Odysseus repairable atomiser for electronic cigarettes by E-Cig-Reviews.com...

Penelope Wick and NR wire... :( :(

Yes, listen to J. Wash all the SS parts with hot water and dish soap or you'll be vaping machining residue. The ceramic needs to be heated up on a stove top to get rid of that soapy taste. The video I linked from E-Cig-Reviews shows how to do it as well as making coils.

    Penelope's missing parts

Once you manage to get it all apart check for burs or anything causing the threads to lock. The one Penelope I was able to use was also very very tight in the threads. I took the atomizer out and totally apart. I took the steel housing off the atomizer, and the base and started to thread them in...

    You about cost me a $100+ keyboard my friend....lmfao. So true! In short....http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=o-ring That's a bunch of o-rings, not ding-a-lings. R.I.P Dio

Penelope Wick and NR wire... :( :(

Amen brother!!! Every Ody/Penelope owner needs to read this thread. (and anything else like it) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/284030-wick-materials-safe-vs-dangerous.html It's full of good ideas about using alternative wicking solutions. Silica or Nextel are NOT the only...

    Penelope's missing parts

If the o-rings are not part of the design then 3 out of 4 of my tanks came missing parts.

    Penelope's missing parts

Finally got my 3x Penelope's today. 2x Penelope's are missing the control nut that holds the atomizer section in place with the base. This missing will cause all sorts of issues. I know this part is suppose to be included! I'm trying to maintain a sense of humor about all this, but I'm getting...

    Missing an oring?

I'm curious how many actually showed up without these o-rings? I'll be going over my Penelope's very closely when they get here.

    Missing an oring?

It's close enough. It's very close to exactly the size of the o-ring that goes on the bottom of the pin to seal it against the base. Imeo stated that o-ring was usable inside the ceramic as well. So it's not set in stone that the o-ring must be an exact size. That Lowes o-ring does the job.

Well bump my head! WOW, that thread is a damn interesting read! AnilomNor, I see you are between ceramic and cheese cloth on your Ody. (Not sure how you would use SS mesh though) Care to link the products, or pm them to me please? I can't make out the brands in the pic you posted. I'm off to...

Not to be a downer, cuz god knows I'd love if it worked, but won't the coils burn the cotton wick? The current wick is a silica type (I'm pretty sure anyway) that's normaly used as a casing to protect wires from heat sources. The reason it makes a good wick is because it will never burn at the...

That's exactly where that plastic ring goes. It should be on the pin outside the ceramic housing touching the bottom of it. Order of parts on pin = inside nut, inside o-ring, ceramic/metal atomizer housing, plastic washer, round wire nut, last rubber o-ring slid on the very bottom. Yup, I'd say...

Will the old style Ody expansion kit fit/work with the new Ody's? I'm trolling for a kit but don't want to be stuck with something that wont work. :toast:

    Missing an oring?

Indeed. I ended up getting two packages. From what I've read, this size doubles for the one at the bottom of the pin as well. Glad you found the #0534, ty89m!

    Missing an oring?

I went to COV's website to obtain that "free" missing o-ring only to be faced with a $3-6 shipping charge to get it. No thanks... I would have picked up some supplies for these tanks, and had the o-ring thrown in, but none of the needed wick or wire parts are in stock. Oh well. #60 (My Lowes...

Nice! I'm off to find it now. Too bad they won't have r/nr wire. lol

    Missing an oring?

Thank you, Craftsmath! I'll go hit up Lowe's and see if they have it. The single wire would not have been a downer if we knew ahead of time that's what it was coming with. The folks that already own Ody's have spools of wire at the ready. Us new owners got kinda caught off guard is all. I...

    GG Talk!

Make sure the wire on the side with the ceramic on it is the wire you attach to the bottom post. The wire on the metal side attaches to the body nut. When you take it apart make sure you have an o-ring inside the ceramic between the pin and the nut. Cranking the pin wire down tight with no...

    Missing an oring?

+1 on the missing o-ring for the ceramic nut. It came in the package with the nut right against the ceramic. It works, but I'm afraid of breaking the ceramic part.
