As I recall wick hole is 2mm. Peeps bored to 3mm and used 2mm nylon shoulder washers. I can vouch that the isolator material in zens does melt. I used 2mm nylon shoulder washers for the short time I had one. If you aren't ready to commit to drilling yet, you can use plastic tube from Q-tips... -

@striker some modded their wick hole to 3mm and then used nylon shoulder washers for isolation. All I heard was good results. If your wick is oxidized and not conducting, there is no need. Cap drilling....too bad. I hear more negatives than positives. You could try JB Weld and start fresh... -

Hi Ash!!! Things I notice. 1-wick is pinched closed at top. 2-bottom coil is loose & not making good contact to mesh. 3-in the cold picture, looks like the wire is digging into the middle of mesh. It does take time for the set up to break in or season. Are you getting hot spots? Looks... -
