    HOW TO: Build the NicoStick

Solder I usually start with the atomizer connection so I don't have to worry about heat transfering to my switch. The black wire from the slide switch goes to the negative contact on the atomizer connection (for DC Jack, this is threads; for OEM battery part, this is outer ring). Red wire...

    HOW TO: Build the NicoStick

Make hole for pushbutton switch and cut and bare wires. To do this: Same technique as previous two holes. The hole should allow the switch its full range of motion. Do not mount the switch in the box yet. At this point, I had black plastic dust EVERYWHERE and I didn't want that immortalized...

    HOW TO: Build the NicoStick

Remove double contact and make hole for atomizer. To do this: Use tweezers to gently remove the double contact using the same technique used earlier. Make a hole for the atomizer. I used my rotary tool and drill bit again to drill a hole and ream it to the right size. The hole should be...

    HOW TO: Build the NicoStick

Remove the slide switch from the 4xAAA holder. To do this: Remove plastic strip covering wires by gently prying with tweezers. Then use tweezers to push the switch from the exterior of the box so that the spring (soldered to the switch) comes out with it. Pics: The...

    HOW TO: Build the NicoStick

Please do not post in this thread. When I have finished posting all the pertinent information, I will put a link to a thread to discuss this mod. I will then ask SunVaporer to sticky this thread so we can easily reference the How To and link to the discussion even years from now. Pics of the...

HOW TO: DC Jack as 901 Fitting

Only permitted 5 pics to a post, so a second post is necessary. Here is a pic of the DC Jack attached to a 901 atomizer. Here is link to the thread where I would prefer all discussion to go...

HOW TO: DC Jack as 901 Fitting

As promised, here is a pictorial How To for using a size M or size N (for our purpose, they are equal) DC power jack as a 901 fitting for battery mods. I got my parts at Radio Shack - part number 274-1583. I have read around the forum that Maplin's has them in the UK. Here is a pic of the...

    My DIY - DSE901 - MAGNUM POWER

If there is a short in the atomizer, it will fry the battery. You can use 3x AAA batteries in the original battery holder that came with the flashlight. It is not 5.8 volts, but it is enough to run an 801 atomizer. Regular alkaline batteries will give you more volts, but won't last very long...

    Copper Plated Circuit Board

This should work. There is a button on the product description page to find this at a store near you. If the dinky little store near me has it, I am sure yours does too. I saw it near the soldering tools. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3173937

    The Beginning to my MADNESS!

That's the right idea. Just get modding. With the confidence of a few mods under your belt, the ideas just flow and the bank account can't keep up with the modding habit.

    The Beginning to my MADNESS!

Using the info Madog gives for wiring, some soldering skills, and a little imagination, the sky is the limit. The whole idea is to make what you want, what you think you might like. I have seen tobacco pipes converted to electronic pipes, rubber duckies turned to rubber PVs, cell phones modded...

    Wiring question

I haven't actually done this one, but I believe that is what everyone else has done (making sure of course, to insulate so that only one prong touches each of the two contacts). I believe you are using the switch as your bridge between the negative battery end and the flashlight casing.

    The Beginning to my MADNESS!

opusMorian, how did you sneak in and get that picture of my desk? That is exactly what my desk looked like this morning before I halfheartedly "tidied" it up to save my marriage - divorce court was alluded to if wifey can't get to the computer by the time she comes home from church. I figure I...

My latest mod, inspired by all of you.

Bri1270, this is in the works;). I am going to do a step by step pictorial of the DC jack atomizer connection, then another for this mod. I will post each in its own thread and then ask Sun Vaporer to sticky them for easy reference. That way we can discuss it in this thread, which can get lost...
