Ahhh, okay. I'll wait for the official replacement, then. I doubt the spring out of my ballpoint would have the right conductivity/resistance. *sigh* Another couple of days with my eGo. Poor thing's been so neglected since I got my GG! -

So another spring-related question: is the spring just there for mechanical force? I mean, is keeping the button up and providing a little resistance all it does, or is it part of the circuit? I'm SO tempted to just stuff a spring from a ball-point pen (or whatever will fit) in there to get me... -

It's just the button; that's part of what makes it kind of scary. The button itself comes out of the assembly, leaving the tube and the contact post and locking ring behind. There's then nothing to keep the spring in place, so it falls out and gets lost easily, and the contact post falls inward... -

Seconded! Even before I got the UFS, the whole process of buying batteries and a charger for several configuration to try things out would have been daunting without this community. After I'd had it about a week, I cranked the collection tank cap too tight and cut through the o-ring. No problem... -

Nicotine VS No-nicotine - Big difference??
Joining the chorus to say that starting with nicotine is very important if you're hoping to quit smoking. Without nicotine, an e-cig is basically one step up from sucking on an empty ball-point pen barrel (which I tried!) in that it gives you something to inhale -- but without nicotine, even...- Jaka

So far, success! I took my hiatus as an opportunity to clean the whole UFS apparatus and get silicone grease on the threads -- I think it actually came with some (thanks, CoV!), but I washed that off cleaning it up. Got it reassembled and ready to go, tightened that top ring just a teensy bit... -

Thanks! I had a hunch the problem was something of the kind, but I was blaming the o-ring itself, not the very top collar that applies pressure to it. Didn't even think of that. I've been tightening everything down extra to prevent leaks, and thus causing the problem -- funny! I'll try the UFS... -
