    You do have it right with the plating (which is chrome, by the way). It does wear off, on the outside of the atomizer. If it wears out in the inside, it would be in process of cleaning rather than from vaping. Even if it did miraculously wear off while vaping, and went into your juice, it does...

    Bottom feeders are generally pocket friendly. Reo with an RBA is compact, leak proof, big battery, bullet proof. Since you asked about no RBAs, the shorty cartos or atomizers work great as well.

    It seems temporary in my experience. It works on cord silica as well, and, coincidentally, stainless mesh :) I haven't tried to get it white-hot, only orange. After that it started turning black. After it gets stiffer, just wetting it gets it soft again.

    You coil them next to each other. If you coil them separate and try to push them together later, they will spring apart. You can somewhat squeeze them together later when they're hot.

    Yep, I did. Torching it red with a gas stove and then rinsing under water helped. Torching it with portable propane blowtorch burnt it :) Just a fair warning.

    That looks very nice! I wouldn't say that it's a mechanical destroyer, even if it did run .5 ohm. Some people (including myself) prefer mechanical mods for other reasons. That doesn't stop me from appreciating a gorgeous wooden squonker. Also, a bit off topic, but what I found works wonders...

    Yeah, that was my reaction too when I figured it out. I can reassure you though -- it vapes like a champ. Much better than regular silica, I've put about 30ml through the same wick, with one dry burn in the middle somewhere. Still tastes clear, like mesh.

    The site calls it silica. Manufacturer says that xs is silica and xc is ceramic. :-( However, it still performs much better than regular silica cord

    Kidney Puncher's XS is not ceramic though, as Pdib has noticed for me a few days ago. It does not need to be heat treated for cleaning purposes, but torching it does cause it to fray even less than before.

    Yup. You want to make sure that all the coils are touching. My theory as to why it improves vapor is that touching coils heat up more evenly, as opposed to one loop doing most of the vaporizing, becoming a sort of a hot spot. BTW, this works very well with other types of wick besides cotton...

    I put a needle through the center of the ekowool and then coil the resistance wire onto it tightly. When you remove the needle later, it gives it enough space for wicking. I've tried threading ekowool through existing coils, but couldn't get good enough contact with the wire that way.

    Ekowool, thickness would have to depend on the atomizer you're putting it in. For vertical feed, I'd suggest 2mm, and for horizontal (like in RM2), I'd suggest 1mm
