I've got 2 of the Efest 35A and they are pretty good. I havent stress tested them yet, but been using them daily on a 0.5ohm dual coil and I have zero complaints.
The 18490 is a newer cell. The 18650s that you get today where probably all mass produced at the same time using the same technology. I would be surprised if AW didn't release a new 18650 this year with a 20C rate.
According to RTD and AW himself the AW 18490 has a max discharge rate of 15C, which is 16.5A
I have 2 of these AWs and have been using them at 10.5A daily without issue.
IMR18490 Specifications :

Lowest Discharge Voltage : 2.50V

First off its a Li-Ion. Second its protected so "High Drain" is probably ~2A, and Third its $24!!!!! I'd stick with the VTC4s or maybe check out the new Efest 35A purples.
Using plumbers tape will effect the amount of surface area for the ground and will most likely result in voltage drop and or hot button. I think loctite makes a conductive thread locker. That's probably your best bet.
Mine made it to the states and has been sitting at customs in chicago for 2 days now. Wish they would hurry up and pass it along. Was hoping to have it tomorrow. But now it looks like the sooneest would be Monday.
I strongly considered the AGI myself. But read that they have alot of voltage loss due to the spring in the center pin. Apparently they are great until you start getting lower than 1.1ohms. I dont know if the center spring pin is only used in genny mode or if its still present in dripper mode...
RDA is a Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer. They usually only hold a few drops of liquid at a time. RBA is a Rebuildable Atomizer that generally has a tank setup and will hold anywhere from 1.5ml - 5 ml of juice. Some leak when turned on their side and some dont. RSST is probably the most user...
Let me just state this, If your looking for a 'better' wick than SS Mesh; SS Cable is NOT your answer.
Now that I have got that out of the way. Short answer is just role the top half inch of the ss cable with ss mesh and oxidize and wrap your coil around the mesh.
IMO ss cable is a PITA, it...
