Well the xs-116/118 is not ceramic...it's silica. It's just braided like ekowool. You're thinking xc-116 which is its ceramic brother. Xc-116 is safe if its properly treated(sizing burned off) according to the manufacturers specs sheet which is a very specific method of treating it in a kiln...

Just reading the google explanation of Rene 41 should answer your question. If the qualities of that wire vs A1 or Ni don't sound appealing/intriguing to you then you're probably fine without it. Also, FWIW, the info pertaining to Rene 41 and vaping is in this very thread.
