Can you use kanthal wire for this?

I'm about to rebuild my first protank I just purchased 32 gauge kanthal wire. What wick should I use I know silica is a safe way to go but really interested I'm cotton wicks! Would cheesecloth be a good choice or even possible? Suggestions for wicking please!
