No. Calibration is to be done on your coil, not your cotton. The calibration needs to be done when the metal is at room temperature. It does not matter if you calibrate your coil with no cotton, dry cotton or wet cotton. The resistance will be the same in any event. Sent from my iPad using...

Your best bet since you're from the UK, would be zivipf.de I selected .4mm there, as it is robust, and about 7 wraps of it gives you a resistance in the right range
