Personally I use youtube for learning new coils. Rip Trippers is a guy who does an amazing job of showing and explaining each type. I used both his inception coil a few times and am now hooked on the sleeper coil for both my genesis style and RBA.

For altitude RBA's or RDA's are the way to go. Tanks have multiple rubber gaskets that swell during quick altitude changes, I had a tank decide to leak on my way up the zutspitz.
