If you pry the big end contact shown here in silver up just a mite...and then wind some tooth floss around the shaft which will prevent it going back into the plastic, it will give it enough extra height to make consistant, excellent contact.
Use a knife blade to pry up the contact and be...
I have been using a steam cleaner for about a year new with excellent results. There are several things I'd like to point out to save you some headaches.
This is my method: (make sure that you hold the atty with pliars or whatever since they get REALLY hot!)
1. Hold the coil side (battery...
As noted earlier in this thread, customs is not the culprit these days. It seems that USPS is getting behind due to the holiday. I ordered some batteries from Hong Kong on 11/28. They were through customs and handed to USPS on 12/7 - They finally arrived at the Santa Clarita sorting facility...
Steve/Casey,
I received my Protege back today. The cap screws on as smooth as a baby's you-know-what.
Thank you for the excellent service (as usual).

How unreasonable of you! You expect people to read what they criticize?
Steve,
Aside from what you sold me, I have 801s, 510s, Janty sticks, Silver bullets, and the protege.
Out of all of them, despite the thread issue, I love the protege the best! I hope that it holds up well 'cause I love it sooooooooo much.

Thanks Sun. Been there, tried that. Under magnification, it looks like there has been no catch thread cut. (last thread has a chamfer). Don't know if I got a weird one or the machine shop forgot the last step.
Of course I have other PVs, silly boy, you sold me 2 901s, 2 401s 2 4062s and enough spare parts to sink a battleship! I'm the jerk who lives in Chatsworth....remember me?
How would you like me to get it to you?
Hi Steve,
Once again you prove your sevice is legendary! Thanks for getting back to me so rapidly!
The problems are:
1. It is very hard to catch the first thread even when reversing to do so.
2. AFTER it catches and begins to turn, it has a tendency to cross thread.
3. It occasionally...
Hi,
I have been enjoying my new protege w/o any switch problems. I smoke 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 ml per day. I am however having issues with the bottom cap which seems to have some thread issues. Am I alone with this problem?
Steve - can you replace or sell me another end cap?
Thanks,
Al
