I'm late to the party, but what I do is take a piece of black electrical tape and tape it down then I put a layer of epoxy over the whole screen. I too, do this after I have booted it up, to aid in a nice placement.

I would use a torch and some plumbers flux to get it tinned before hand. Then I would think you would be able to solder to it easily.

So I havent been a part of this conversation. But I saw where a few people were talking about ordering the taps for the FD connectors. I too am working on one of the FT boxes just got it in the mail today. So I ran down to my local ACE hardware and low and behold there was a 10mm X 1 tap right...

Vapor tec has some nice cigelei, copper, and caravella knockoffs. I just bought a stainless 19B and for 34.00 it's really a fantastic mod.

Now I'm envious. Micro lathe, dang thats about the only tool that I dont have, that I wish I did.
