Winged, I don't see anything broken from your pic. If you are talking about the wick channel, it is suppose to be like that with no ceramic.

Isn't that a second hole on the other end of the wick? The screws look like the same height so it will be hard to do a single vertical wick genesis but i'm sure someone will figure it out, LOL.
